My wife and I have dined at this restaurant a few times and although the service has been slow at times, the food has always been good. we were so pleased with the food we invited another couple to join us for a meal.

We arrived on time for our 7:00 booking and were shown to our table and ordered some papadoms and a drink. The restaurant was rather busy as there were a large party of 20 - 25 celebrating a child's birthday so it was noisier than usual however the speaker above our table seemed to be trying to compete so when we had finished our papadoms we asked to be moved to another table, as there were a few empty this was arranged.

At about 7:40 we had to ask for our order to be taken as everyone was rather hungry, our starters arrived 10 mins. later and were quickly eaten. at 8:35 some hot plates were placed on our table we thought our main course had arrived but the meal was for a couple on the next table who had arrived as we received our starters the hot plates were then removed from our table with the comment "NOT YOURS" one of my guests asked if our meal would be much longer as we had been waiting rather a long time and were by now very hungry she was then given a very aggressive answer " YOUR FOOD WILL BE SOON, WE ARE VERY BUSY, WE ARE WORKING OUR LEVEL BEST, IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT YOU KNOW WHAT YOU CAN DO NEXT TIME" My friends husband could not believe the way his wife had been spoken to and asked the (Manager?) to repeat what he had said thinking it was a grammatical error, the same aggressive tone was used to repeat the comment. my friend felt so insulted that he grabbed his coat refusing to remain in the restaurant. so we all walked out.

My friends had had a 60 mile round trip to join us, and this left us feeling very embarrassed

The De Ja Vu has now lost two customers who have recommended the restaurant to others but will be informing them now of the treatment we received.
