Pizzeria Pappagone

This is perhaps the best value for money restaurant in the whole of london. Apart from the quality of the food it is the athmosphere and the service that make all the difference. There must be at least 10 waiters and they are so incredibly organized and efficient, better than in any 5 star Mayfair nouvelle place. Owner Marco is mega friendly and usually greets the guests with a handshake by the door while italian music playing in the background. Where else do we get such a treatment? Nowhere. We usually have at least 2 Proseccos at the bar followed by a 3 course dinner plus a bottle of Red and the bill comes to 60 quid for 2 people without tip.

No, not a chain, this place is too special. Just one in Walthamstow Village.

Especially now that Mondragone has gone.

Perfect, would save us a tube journey on a Friday's.

i agree with the last review "what utter rubbish". i am writing from Spain after 6 wonderful years in London made all the better by my amazing experiences at Pappagone. I had my leaving party there last week and thought i would send a review as my way of saying thankyou.Pappagone made my London experience so much easier with great meals great atmosphere and great super friendly service, i dont know why someone would write that it is dirty when it has always been impeccable every time i was there and that was at least once a week.A very special thanks go to Marco and Massimo i think they were the managers, they always looked after my friends and i perfectly, always with a smile and a limoncello at the end. Thanks Pappagone i will miss the wonderful evenings i had there and will definately be coming in when i visit London.Good luck for the future and keep up the excellent work.

What utter rubbish. I have never heard anything so ridiculous as the last review.

Even though we moved away from the area, we are still regulars here. The staff are lovely, the pizza and pasta are the best. Dirty? Must have gone to the wrong restaurant and got the names muddled up.

Whenever we have either recommended, or taken people here, they have always loved it.

We have been going here since they opened and it has always been a great place that has never disappointed in any way.

was here the other evening and was possibly the worst meal ever!!! The place was filthy, i dont think it had been cleaned for a while!!! as for the meal i didnt feel comfortable eating as the rest of the place was really dirty, i don't want to know what the kitchen was like!! food was average and i prefer the pizzas from another pizza restraunt on the road which are much tastier and the place is much cleaner!! One to avoid everything just seemed a bit false, the staff and the food. Back to the original italian it is then La porchetta!!!!

the food here is beyond belief ,the portions are huge and the quality is literally world class ,in short 5 star grub at 1 star prices . the atmosphere was friendly and family orientated ,it said it all to me when i walked in and saw italian people feeding their babies and toddlers ,what more of a recommendation is there !. the staff are courteous and efficent ,highly recommended to all !!!!!!!!!!.

This place is a diners delight....the food is fabulous and cheap - not only that but the staff are helpful, polite and best of all mediterranean!

Would definitely recommend sampling a pizza - theyre HUGE - none of our party could finish theirs.

This place is jam packed every single night - now I know why! Best book early!

I went to a pizza restaurant on Friday with my friend and my cousin.We went there for dinner. I ordered chicken salad for starters and I ordered pepperoni pizza for the main meal. After that, I had chocolate cake for dessert. The food was tempting and the restaurant was very romantic, but the service was inefficient because the waiter was snobbish. The bill came to £20 which was expensive. I'd recommend it because it was exquisite.

We have been eating here since they first opened. We have now moved out of the area, but still go back most Friday's. We have never had a bad experience, The pizza and pasta's are wonderful and the staff are lovely, so I am really shocked to see the review below & really can't imagine what happened!
