YO! Sushi (Westfield)

Absolutely appallingly bad. Yo sushi has completely misunderstood the Japanese concept of kaiten sushi (which they sometimes even claim to have invented). The whole point of kaiten sushi is freshness, by frequently adding and replacing plates of sushi. With Yo sushi's plastic cups on top and dry fish, the concept seem to be the opposite. In addition to the plastic cups, some of the fish was heavily drenched in vinegar, probably to preserve the fish to keep it safe to eat for a longer period of time. In addition to this, the whole pricing scheme is a rip off. In Japan, they would have a similar scheme of 5-6 prices levels (obviously about half price compared to Yo sushi), but they would also offer quite a variety of everything from the lowest to the highest price. At Yo sushi, the cheapest option is only Edamame (green beans) and second lowest only have two options. The rest is all priced around 3.20 to 5 pounds, which is ridiculously expensive, consider what you get. All in all, Yo sushi is a complete nightmare and a disgrace to Japanese food. I would advice anybody considering to go to Yo sushi, to take another look at McDonalds as a option or maybe walk around the block to find a slightly less bad Japanese restaurant.
