Visited this local curry house last Sunday evening, thinking I'd try it out despite the poor reviews with a tastecard.

I wish i never bothered, all three of us had bland starters and pretty awful curries. Rubbery meat and the lamb jalfrezi tasted pretty similar to my friend's chicken dhanzak. The service was friendly enough but that can't cover up the poor quality of the food.

If you want a decent curry, try Chutneys or Masala Kitchen up the road. Vastly superior.

Food was bad, it had no flavour and the two chicken dishes that i had tasted the same and the only difference was one was a bit more orange.

Ordered take away 3 times now and won't be going again. Very polite staff but the portions are small and meat isn't that great. Lamb very fatty. Burnt nann on all occasions. Once got complimenty sides. When you order take away its ready in less than 10 mins and normally cold. In all honesty. Go for a short walk to chutneys.

Further to my recent visit to the Curry Leaf restaurant, I was disappointed by the levels of customer service offered by the establishment. Having notified the manager that we were TasteCard customers, it became apparent that the waiter's level of attentiveness noticeable diminished. During food service the waiter was more content with chatting on his mobile phone (rather than serving our food) and when challenged about the service charge, we were left under no illusion that this was a mandatory element for Tastecard members. A most unsavoury experience...

Booked a table for two on a Sunday early evening using a well known members card that entitles 50% off the food bill. I requested a jug of tap water when the waiter asked what drinks we would like, but he seemed confused by this request, saying they had still and sparkling. I repeated the request again, 'a jug of tap water please' - he mumbled something and walked off. Another man came to our table to state they were unable to provide tap water to members of this discount card. I pointed out that I had heard other people ordering tap water and they were given it without question - his response was that they were full paying customers, so were entitled to it.

This hugely infuriated me but I did not want to kick up a fuss before the food was served. We were also served some of our dishes whilst the waiter was talking on his mobile phone. When we were presented with the bill, I politely explained the food was very nice but as they were for some reason unable to provide us with tap water, I was not pleased with the service so did not wish to pay for the service charge.

He got very uncomfortable, kept trying to talk over me and went on to say he had to add service charge to members of this discount card. I explained as clearly as possible that I'd have no problem paying the service charge, if he had simply brought us the tap water as he did for the full paying customers. Another diner on another table piped up and asked why they hadn't provided the tap water as we requested. The manager got even more flustered and said it was his 'business plan', to which the other diner curtly replied 'that's a very short sighted business plan - this lady won't return now and you've lost her business just because you wouldn't provide something that costs you nothing anyway'.

How right he was. Food was alright but very disappointing service. Don't join a discount scheme if you're going to discriminate against those using it. We won't be returning.

After seeing an offer on a reputable website promoting a 40% discount on the al a carte menu, we tried to book a table at our local Curry Leaf. The restaurant told us they had a table for 2 at 9pm BUT soon changed their minds when I asked about the 40% off offer. I was then told they had no tables at all all evening and then said a prompt goodbye and hung up the phone on me.

Not my idea of good customer service.

Sadly I cannot comment on their food or table service but I can tell you their phone manner is appalling.

Nice food and friendly service. Downsides never seems to be busy so lacks atmosphere. Better for a takeaway than eat in meal.
