The food here is great. In my opinion it offers some of the finest food in the country. The service is good and the staff are friendly. The conveyer belt that displays the food is not only original, but useful for when you want to see what there is before you choose.

If you're a real sushi fan, the range at Itsu isn't huge--tuna and salmon are about it, in addition to some strange things like duck and chicken, which you don't usually expect to see. However, what they do have is good.
It's fresh and well done, and a box from their takeaway will set you back less than the boxes you get from a supermarket, for infinitely superior quality.
So if you're a real sushi afficionado and you're wanting tako maki, unagi, and that sort of thing, this isn't the place for you. But if you don't want to spend £50/person but are craving a bit of nigiri, drop by.
Keep in mind it's not "cheap" if you're comparing it to all restaurants across the board, but if you're comparing it just to sushi places, it's very reasonable.

How does one start writing a review on Itsu? It's not even Japanese, no where close. The wasabi was 'fake'. The sushi just isn't tasty. And tuna sweet corn is just weird! Not cheap either. Won't be going back.

My Dad took me to a sushi restaurant for the first time and I thought it was fantastic! The food was delicious, I especially enjoyed the miso soup and tuna sashimi.
I also liked the way the restaurant has displayed the food onto a conveyer belt. This gives you the opportunity to see before you eat!
Allthough this food may seem slightly expensive, it is definitly worth it. The friendly staff add to the whole experience.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants great Japanese food in a relaxed environment.

A posh version of YO! I loved the miso soup, but disappointing that it is not free unlimited for set price. The sushi is very westernised. Best sushi is the unagi (marinated grilled sushi) that you have to order, which was gorgeous!

I love this place. Its the combination of the moving dishes, subdued lighting and efficient staff that make it a real favourite. The choice of dish may not be massive, but it seems to be done well every time.

Itsu serves sedated sushi, ideal for beginners (even the green tea is sweetened!). The conveyor belt concept is awfully fun, ideal for an unpretentious snack in-between. If reasonable, you can get away with as little as £12pp. I felt the Soho branch has a Road 66 era feeling to it. Staff is quick (since you’re helping yourself, not much for them to do anyway) and friendly.

the staff were friendly and very attentive
nicer than yo sushi, it had a lot more atmosphere
some of the portions were a bit small for the price, and at 40 quid the champagne should have been a lot better
my girlfriend and i had a table to ourselves, as it got dark out the lighting dimmed to give a surprisingly romantic effect, or maybe we were just drunk by then - we were there about 4 hours, and to be honest we really pigged out
lovely

My girlfriend and I ate at Itsu 3 weeks ago for our first anniversary. Although the staff were generally polite and friendly, I couldn't help the feeling that we were somehow under surveillance.
The first course consisted of tuna wrapped in crispy seaweed with a sticky rice side. I opted for the wasabi; however, my girlfriend chose the silver biscuit that accompanied the course. This, she could only describe as "an easily acquired, yet unforgettable taste".
Next we moved on to the chilled shrimp which came with a strangely phosphorescent dip; however, upon closer inspection we realised this was a neon reflection from across the street. The shrimp and dip combination was truly out of this world; without first hand experience, one can only imagine how rare the taste really was!!
We finished with a bottle of Saki, which, upon reflection we may have indulged in with a little too much fervour. Unfortunately, we're both still suffering from a 3 week hangover; however, my girlfriend has lost nearly 4 1/2 stone and has certainly cut down on her use of Immac!!
Thank you Itsu for a truly life changing experience. We'll certainly be recommending you to our friends when they fly in from Italy in a few days!

Pretty good. Great service. The polonium special did not go down too well though.
