Saturday, August 01, 2009 - There was an okay deboned quail and good wasabi prawns. And then I ordered the 'slow-cooked pork belly, feijoada bean puree, chilli mango' because it sounded at least Brazilian, and because I hate myself. I thought it was bland and dusty but Kielty said it was the best thing he had eaten in ages. Mind you, an hour before he had told me, 'I'm Irish. As far as I'm concerned, food is either burnt or soggy' - and as the feijoada appeared to be both, I guess that was the attraction.

Monday, April 27, 2009 - We began with wasabi prawns, spicy crispy baby squid and seafood tempura. The prawns were huge, juicy beasts and the squid came in neat little circles, piquantly spiced. These were accompanied by doll's house-sized dishes of dark sauces for dipping - though I'm never quite sure which one is intended for which. The seafood tempura was delicious, but let's face it, this dish is basically just a posher and more manageable portion of battered fish and a guiltfree way of liberating your inner chip shop. Our main course of sushi was sublime. Just perfect.

I've been to Sushinho a few times now. It is my love for Sushi that leads me back to explore more of the original fusion on offer. I have always considered spider roll maki's to be a favorite of mine, but I had to re-assess that after trying the recently added dragon roll. My friends and I were full on arguing over the last piece and had to settle the conflict by ordering another. Delicious!!! I was happy to see that some of the original favorites hadn't fallen off the revised menu. Wagyu beef with wasabi mash to be specific. I'm also happy to see that service has improved as well, something I accepted as typical but inconvenient teething problems for new restaurants that haven't yet found their "flow".

This place is stunning, really beautiful urban type of place! The food was good but I must admit, having tried other Japanese-Brazilian fusion restaurants elsewhere, that this is more of a good Japanese without much fusion stuff in it... Pricey: we did not eat too much and paid nearly 60£ each, without exceeding on drinks. Overall positive experience.

Believe the hype...I've been coming to sushinho once a week for the last 6 weeks and have not yet been disappointed. The atmosphere is wonderful (especially on Friday and Saturday), the service is ultra-friendly and the food is just brilliant. The fish used for sushi is of a very high quality (same suppliers as Roka and other top Japanese restaurant; I read it in some newspaper food review recently) and the skills and creativity of the sushi chefs is exaclty what I expect of such a place. The warm dishes are all different and special in their own right.

Really do give this place a try. It's not a traditional Japanese restaurant, so some people might be dissapointed that certain dishes are missing or that some dishes are done differently but that's what makes this place special.

I recommend you come early evening and sit at the cocktail bar upstairs, order several sushi dishes and a glass of one of their incredible cocktails (the cocktails really are as good as they say), relax and enjoy the buzz. Where else in London can you have top notch sushi at an excellent cocktail bar!

Very disappointed, sushi quality was very poor, too much rice on the roll, sashimi were freezing cold and not tender, had a california handroll which was tasteless and the spicy tuna tempura was absolutely not spicy. Overall low quality food at Nobu's prizes. £8 for 2 pieces sashimi!!!!

Service was average, when we sat at 7:15pm we were reminded twice that we had to leave the table before 9:30pm however after waiting for 15 min had to get up to get the menu!!!

I would not recommend and probably not go back.

Was very disapointed with this place after reading the reviews! The menu is Limited. We ordered the Wagyu Beef which was horrilble!! I could'nt eat it, not good flavour or quality, quite tough and chewy NOT tender! The Tempura Prawns were ok NOT great and they didnt give you the usual Japanese Tempura dipping sauce they only had creamy sauces made with mayonaise! The spicy Tempura Tuna Roll had NO spice! And there was very little else on the menu I wanted to eat!! I am dairy Intolerant which is one of the reasons I LOVE Japanese food (Japanese dont do dairy) but a lot on the menu here has cream/dairy in it or in the sauces?! Also this place was not busy for a Saturday night and I am not suprised!

Sunday, January 04, 2009 - Sushinho opened a couple of weeks ago on what Lady Bracknell would call the unfashionable end of the King’s Road. Its USP of Japanese-Brazilian fusion is rather more U than most. (And rather U than me, you’re probably thinking.) But, while it may have sounded a bit odd, it wasn’t without promise. It actually turns out the pairing isn’t so weird: one moderately surprising fact for you is that Brazil contains the largest proportion of Japanese people outside their home country…
