I've had mixed experiences here, and, unfortunately, the bad outweigh the good. Tonight I had "Three Taste Squid." The sauces was similar to a sweet and sour sauce with some mild chilli. The flavour was fine, but not exciting in any way. It had the processed/jellied texture of takeaway Chinese. The fried squid was hot and crispy and tender, but it was also entirely to greasy. The pandan leaf rice was nice. Service was OK-ish until he cleared everything from the table, including my not-finished beer. Cats is fine if you live nearby or are going out with a large group, but otherwise I wouldn't travel for it.

A definite gem! Went there on regular basis when i lived in N4. Superb, superb, superb!

It's a shame that we've moved to SE London some time ago and have not visited since!

Try the Coconut Rice!

I went to Cats on a Thursday evening with my husband, brother and sister in law. The staff are extremely friendly and the decor is different and funky. We had vegetable spring rolls and sweet corn cakes for starters. Both were delicious. For my main meal I chose the ped hed medmamuang I found it quite bland. However my husband had the chicken with cashew nuts and my brother had the massaman beef curry which they said were both very good. For starters , mains and coffee's the bill came to £40 a couple which is very reasonable for London prices.Overall it was a good night out and I would recommend the restaurant to friends.

I went to Cats two weeks ago with three girlfriends and would go again in a shot, the food is divine, i love thai food in general but this was gorg! when i first walked in i thought it was small it has cosy romantic seating but at theback has ample space for large parties it would suit anyone. The service was top draw and its so cosy and relaxed u dont want to leave and u can tell the people who work and own it take a lot of pride in what they have there. The family run pride shines through. Like stepping outta london without losing the quality it brings.

I am a regular visitor to cats, I have to stop myself going, I could go there every weekend its so yummy, my family also use the restaurant on a regular basis, I have tried other thai restaurants but this is the best. I love the food the services is brialliant and I have been there to night and I was also there last Saturday and I still dont get tired of the food there is so many different dishes to choose and the children love this healthy food. We travel from Edmonton to get to this restaurant its that popular in our house.

For us Cats is the best restaurant in London - superb service - excellent bar manager - front of house is truly exceptional - as for the food FANTASTIC - we have been on many occasions now and we have never had a meal that was less than sublime. The kitchen is authentic Thai and the menu is comprehensive without being too fussy. If you havent been to Cats then treat yourself and i guarantee you will go back. We travel over 80 miles as a round trip just to go to Cats and will continue to do so.

This restaurant seems to be busy everyday. I think there are some people who are trying Thai food for the first time, but there are many people who are repeaters. I enjoyed the meal, so two days after I went there at first time, I went again. The food is fantastic and tasty. Even someone who does not like spicy food will enjoy it because they can chose the level of spiciness. Every main dish comes with some vegetables, so it is very healthy. The most interesting thing is the lovely atmosphere. The tables and chairs were made from wood, and if you go there in the evening time, the lights are only candles. It is so romantic. Now I am thinking of trying every dish because this restarurant is worth it.

I took my boyfriend here after reading the good reviews on this website and wasn’t let down at all! A really lovely restaurant, with excellent food and great prices. We had two starters and two mains all for £30! Excellent Thai green curt with proper Thai sticky rice!

We were a little unsure about whether or not to eat some of the starter (couldn’t tell if it was decoration/flavouring or edible!) but this added to the fun of the place and the liveliness of the food.

I would recommend it to anyone that loves good Thai or is experimenting for the first time. Not the most romantic setting but very relaxed and welcoming. I would gladly go again in an instant.

Always a pleasure visiting Cat's. Food is sooo fragrant and tasty, presentation of food is pretty, customer service is good too. Only problem is the portions...friends and i have never taken doggy bags home.

Authentic environmental reminiscent of Thailand.

Simply want let you down

This must be the best Thai restaurant in the UK. The food is amazing and the service is excellent. They say that Thailand is the land of smiles and 'Cats' does not fall short of this tradition.

My favourite dish there must be the Pork Panang.. creamy, spicy yummy :)

You must try it, but be warned... Highly addictive!! The Chef is a wizard on the wok..
