I went to Cats restaurant last night and was disappointed with both the service and food. The dishes tasted like they were made with pre made processed sauces rather than with fresh spices. The food was also presented in a bland fashion with none of the decorations and garnishes featured on the website.I would particularly advise against the Thai green salad which costs £5 for a small bowl of bland lettuce and cucumber served with peanut sauce.

I was part of a group of eight people and we were all disappointed at the end of the evening.

The staff seemed tired and uninterested.

I love Thai food and have eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants however this is one that I will not be going back to.

Just had lunch at Cats - both me and my daughter have passed by the restaurant on the bus for years and always wanted to come in, because of the panthers on the outside. First impressions - quirky decor, and unique carved dark wood chairs and tables. It was empty but we didn't get there til nearly 3pm. Perfectly adequate lunch specials, but we decided to chose from the menu. Great choice of dishes - many that we had never heard of before. Portions were not huge, but food was really lovely, and cooked to order. had a nice glass of wine, reasobaly priced. Waitress was cheerful, not obseqious and let us get on with it, miraculously appearing when we wanted refills. And the prrice? lunch for 2, 2 glases of wine, a coke and a pad thai to take home was £37. Would definitely come again, perhaps on a thursday evening when they advertise live music.

Ate here last night. The quality of food was very bad indeed. The food was generic, batch processed food tasting as though it may as well come from a packet! One sauce fits all dishes sort of place.

Not going back.

I've been living in the area for 10 years & never seen any change, cleaning of walls, furniture update or any effort to keep up with the times.

My friend and I love cafe cats, we tend to go about once a quarter and although i often think oooh i will try something new i am always somehow drawn to the spring rolls followed by amber prawn curry....mmmmmm..delish...

However, i would also say the tofu and ginger main is fantastic (yes for once I did try something new last visit!!!) and I would also say that the coconut rice is very satisfying... we normally have the noodles and bean sprouts which are occasionally a little greasy but always tasty...

Must admit we always say oh no it's too much but we always seem to manage to get through most of the dishes we order..along with a beer or two..

I would perhaps have dessert at home but other than that it's a lovely venue whether for a cosy dinner for two or a large party....I've even been there on new yrs eve and it was packed but the service was still pretty quick and the quality of the food high

if you haven't tried cafe cats...you must !!!!
