It's hard to get really good Vietnamese delivered, but we just ordered from Hung Viet via Just Eat and it was amazing. The King Prawn Fresh Summer Rolls were the best I've had - fresh, herby, light, and flavorful. The Chili Salt Squid was perfectly cooked and lightly fried - so so so delicious. The Stir Fried Beef with Chili and Lemongrass was also absolutely delicious. Next time I'm on Kingsland Road I'll definitely head straight to Hung Viet instead of my usual Song Que. Highly recommended!

My family and close friends visited the Hung Viet yetserday evening for my birthday. We had a fantastic time. The sevrive was outstanding and the food was superb. Particularly good wwere the prawn filled dumplings and also the soft shelled fried crab.

We have vsitied Hung Viet on a number of occassions and although the food (according to other reviews) may not be as good as others, for us the food is excellent and coupled with lovely friendly service, cannot be beaten on this or on value for money. In addition we think its a nice touch to allow your own drink, which we feels adds to the relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

This is simply the best Vietnamese restaurant in Kingsland Road by far. Pleasantly less busy than the other places on this stretch, probably because it is not yet known. However, the food is a notch above all of the opther places on the street. Highly recommended are: the home-made Vietnamese spring rolls, Lotus root salad, Hanoi grilled fish, beef in betel-leaf, steamed seabass with ginger and spring onion. Any of the 'wrap-and roll' dishes are very tasty and fun to make (they are rice paper with a selection of grilled meat and herbs which you make yourself at the table). Even the deserts are superb. The management have recently decide to allow people to bring their own wine. Until then, it was strictly licensed only which probably restricted the clientele.

I shouldn't really write this review because it probably means that it will now become full like many of the other local places. This place however, unlike some of the places on this street, really does deserve it however, simply for the quality of the food and the range of delectable flavours the chef is able to conjure up. This place is a real gem!

What can I say about this place, apart from its an excellent restaurant. The food, of which there is an ample menu to choose from, did not disappoint. The service was fast & efficient & always with a smile.

Being a smaller venue than most, you felt you were getting a personal service, a service that you do not seem to get at more established restaurants.

If you like good food and excellent service, this place is a must.

Tuesday, June 02, 2009 - TVP is the latest addition to The Pho Mile. It’s barely five months old and strategically placed between the old stalwart of Loong Kee Café and Time Out’s fave, Song Que…Fair to say that I’m no Vietnamese but it’s also fair to say that the meal I had here was authentic enough. One of the best Vietnamese in town, you’ll love it.
