I am Brazilian and live in the UK. After hearing a friend talking about a Brazilian restaurant bear Victoria station, we decided to try Preto yesterday. What a horrible experience.

There was nothing in the buffet I could say I liked after trying. The coxinha and cauliflower were so dry, chewy, old, etc that I was concerned how many days they have been seating there for. The feijoada had so much water that it looked like a watery meat pieces soup and I could not find many beans in the water. The brown beans were completely cold, the tomato salad was hard, the vegetarian lasagna looked like someone had stirred it with a spoon. And the star of the restaurant (the barbecue meat) was dry and extremely salty. An embarassament for a Brazilian in London.

This was all a real shame because the staff is so attentive and friendly. Service was just perfect! The toilet was also very clean!

But they don't sell a good product, so their efforts are lost.....

I was there with my girlfriend, and that was the best ever rodizio restaurant I ever ever been, better than Rico though.

The staff were amazing, I loved it, and I will go there again and again.

I have recommended it to my friends and they loved it

Had a very enjoyable meal for two on Monday evening and am compelled to write this after seeing some poor reviews.

Buffet was very nice with plenty of choices available. The meat dishes flowed to our table every 6-8 mins, my friend and I managed to get through about 6 different meat cuts in the 2 hours we were sat there. The cuts were all very well prepared and presented and tasted superb; the servers were able to meet both our needs (my friend prefers well done and I rare).

The deserts were surprisingly good for a £20 a head restaurant, the waitress bought a tray to our table with all of the 8 desserts for us to choose from (our desserts were then prepared not just taken from the tray). This was a nice touch I thought as sometimes desserts are a gamble.

The wine list was reasonably extensive, we washed our meal down with a couple of bottles or riocha - just the job.

Waitresses and waiters were very polite, well humoured and knowledgeable of theeir offerings and we felt well attended to but not at all rushed. All were Brazilian appartently which we thought was a nice touch. The restaurant was resonably busy and I got the feeling that all around us were having a positive experience.

I am officially a Preto fan now. Have also dined at the Putney Preto which was very busy and I would encourage anyone to try this great Brazilian restaurant - you will not be disapointed.

Having eaten at the Preto Restaurant in Victoria we decided to visit the Putney branch without reading the reviews. There were 5 of us in total and without making a reservation they managed to get us a table on Friday night, we were asked to wait at the bar, had a decent bottle of red whilst waiting. The restaurant is very busy and very noisy but the atmosphere was great. Once we were seated (after about 25 minutes) we were served a wonderful array of meats (some a little salty) the peppered steak was wow, the buffet was presented nicely with a good choice of salads.

If we had read the reviews we probably would not have bothered with the Putney branch but we had a fab time, would say the staff were helpful and friendly and at £20 for as much meat as you can eat its pretty good value for money.

Happy that we went and will be going back. Surprised at the negative reviews, better to decide for yourself.

Went to Putney Preto on Friday with hope of good food, good service and a fun atmosphere. Our waiter was actually pretty good but the food seemed to consist of entirely dry and salty meat. This was followed up by mass produced very poor desserts. For the price you can reasonably expect better. We had two drinks, mains and dessert and paid £40 per head. The price was only topped by the most patronising, and plain rude manager I've ever met. I'd avoid getting in to a conversation with her. We felt like we were back at school!! There are plenty of infinitely better restaurants for less in Putney offering better service and better food. Avoid if you can.

Preto has got to be the worst restaurant I have ever had the misfortune to spend £300 in, There were a family of 6 of us - we had the table for 1.5 hours before we were asked to leave (not even finished the food they had just billed us for!) They invited the next party to sit down on the table we were still at. It had not even been cleared and we still had beers (extortionately priced) and wine (ditto) to finish. Management exceptionally rude - food, poor quality and despite what is said about being unlimited - is absolutely limited by the number of minutes the table is available. Be prepared to eat very fast and be hit by a mega bill. Personally I would rather stick pins in my eyes than eat here.

PRETO - NO STARS DISGRACEFUL RESTAURANT!

i organised for my family to go to PRETO in Putney as a celebratory meal, and the service was disgusting. Food was very substandard, and although positioned as an "all you can eat buffet with quality food" on the website is not true to what you get in this place. food was shoddy, service even worse. The female manager was completely rude, when we asked if we could stay at the table for an extra 5 mins to finish our drinks (they let you have the table for 1.5hr and no more) she already had people lined up around us to take our table! i would have to say i've had better service in mcdonalds than this place, and when your paying circa £45 a head (food cheap, drinks extortionate!), i'd rather give £300 to a homeless person than spend it here!

I've been 3 times to Preto Putney. The first 2 times (October and December) were really great, but yesterday I was absolutely shocked. The buffet was a bit poor: no heart of palm, no fried cassava, and the cheesy rolls were well baked but had no taste. There was basically just 3 types of meat coming to the tables (every 5 minutes). Without seeing the chicken hearts after 1,5 hours waiting, I asked the manager if they had it. He said it was coming soon. Asked him again half and hour later, he said he never talked to me before. Then he came with chicken hearts completely dry and almost burned. I said it was too dry, and he told me he would come back with RARE chicken hearts (obviously being sarcastic). I said I didn't like rare chicken hearts, and he just left. Had to wait 30 minutes (twice) for my soft drink to come, despite the number of waiters not busy at all. Complaint to the hostess, and the waiter who took my order came to my table in a very rude manner, asking what was the problem. I said it was a problem to be discussed between the management and me, not between the two of us, then he gave me a pat on my back and said the problem was me. My friends were just as shocked as I was.

I went there to eat something different, but next time I'll just go to a normal steak house. And now I understand why last year it was always fully booked, and now there's no queue at all... Really sad.

I went to the Putney branch and was really very disappointed with nearly every aspect of the evening. Food was poor, and although the waiters were fine. When we had a problem with the bill at the end of the evening the manager was smug, very rude and unhelpful. It was totally unprofessional and uncalled for and totally ruined the evening. I could have coped with the bad food but really felt the service from the so called manager was unacceptable. Don't go and tell anyone who asks not to go.

On 14/01/11, I and my family went to dinner at Rodizio Black Putney to celebrate the birthday of my wife first came to this table restaurante.Quando asked to switch to another because one of my kids did not want to sit this table. I asked to explain how the menu was, which was not clear and confusing but ... The food was good, waiters very friendly, except the waitress who was serving our table who spent time looking at us with nuisance and look where the employees went to serve the food recorded it all time ...

The problem started when we asked for the bill, which was noted in 3 of the price charged for adult full menu when in fact it was only a Sort menu and 2 are complete with a visit to the buffer. We asked the waitress explanation and were told that the three adults had eaten Rodizio (equivalent to a piece of meat with less than 50 grams) when in fact it was only one adult to eat the whole menu ... We spoke to manager after waiting 10 minutes ., so that told us what was right and the maid that my wife and another friend had to pay £ 5 for less than 50 grams of caster that was served on my plate earlier. The attitude Manager with a customer who spends £ 130 the food of three adults and two children, and extremely shameful and rude.
