I visited the Meat & Wine Co's Puza Bar at Westfield for the first time in a long time and was sorely disappointed. We ordered Porn Star Martini's at £8.50 a pop at the bar and was told we'll bring them over to you rather than wait for them to mix them. On their arrival,(after waiting ages) the cocktails were nice but my friend's glass was chipped. Then when someone came over to take payment they added another £2 on top for the not so privilege of bringing the drinks 10ft from the bar, after THEY offered to do so. And these drinks weren't cheap! Next, my friend ordered another round which also took ages to arrive and gave the waitress and £20 note who neglected to return the change. That was a fiver in total they helped themselves to in the way of tip for terrible service.
Added to which I had to direct one of the barman to wash his hands after I saw him scratching his hair then beard vigorously, then proceeded to make my last cocktail. There was also a very musty smell in the bar when we moved from outside to inside.
Needs serious improvement, wouldn't hurry back.

Atmosphere and service suggested the food would be good, but as soon as the sliced stale Tesco-like bread was served as a starter, we realised that things may not be as good as they seemed. The steak was overcooked, tough and drenched in BBQ sauce and the hamburger would not be out of place in a fairground! The friendly waitress couldn't make up for the over priced rubbish food!

We came expecting the best quality steak, cooked perfectly and excellent service especially considering the prices (£40 for 8oz steak). Unfortunately the chef's recommendation of a new Australian steak enthusiastically upsold to me by the waiter was disappointing and they slather a barbecue sauce on all their steaks- which when we mentioned it to the maitre d' he replied that it was stated on the menu and we should have realised. This ruined a mediocre steak. The chips were nice though. Not one to return to.

I went to the Meat & Wine Co for a birthday party on a Saturday night. The table was booked for 8:30 but was not available until 9:30.
Once seated our group was pretty much ignored by the staff and it took an hour for them to take a food order from half our party but they ignored the other half. I had to accost a waitress to ask for a drink after I'd been seated for an hour and twenty minutes. It took half an hour to bring my drink and it was wrong.
I ordered the combo of 200g rump steak and beef ribs. The steak was very nice but the ribs were totally over-cooked and what little meat was on them was bland and tough. The meat was accompanied by undercooked chips.
My meal and one ginger beer came to £35 and took over four hours. For the same money I could have had a very nice steak and a glass of wine in a proper restaurant in Central London, not this rubbish in a shopping centre in the suburbs.

First visited this place about a month ago with a couple friends and was v impressed by the decor and surroundings and only waited a few minutes for a table (although it was a Wednesday night). Our waiter was very helpful and knowledgable and the calamri to start and original burger for main were both great.
I went there again for my birthday dinner on Friday night with 9 other friends and I have to say that the staff were very helpful again with accommodating us. They now also have a new hala manu..
There was no charge for bringing in my own birthday cake and the staff brought it out with sparklers and singing happy birthday!
There was a bit of a mix-up with the tea and coffee order and we had to repeat the order about 3 times, but other than that we were all happy when we left..
And they called me today with a courtesy call to ask if we'd enjoyed ourselves and if I had an feedback/criticism..
All in all a good night out..

Excellent decor, friendly service and lovely burgers. Side options and sauces were tasty. Mocktails were excellent. The Halal steaks were slightly overcooked (my medium-rare appeared to be medium).
The halal steakhouse in Tooting does better steaks for more reasonable prices. Avoid.

Having eaten here tens of times since it opened I have only praise for the place. The staff are incredibly helpful, professional and friendly and they do the best steaks I've tasted. It is a popular restaurant in a shopping centre so don't expect to get a table immediately. However if you call 30 minutes ahead they can invariably find one for you. Highly recommended.

This place is not the greatest, but then it's not as bad as some make out. I think it is becoming fashionable to knock this place a tad more than is deserved.
Food - Average quality which means 5/10.
Service - Pretty good, actually. The staff where very friendly and helpful and looked after us.
Atmosphere - Hardens gives it the lowest rating which is strange as I have eaten in far worse atmospheric places. I would give it 7/10. What is slightly off putting is being able to see into the toilets washbasin area from the dining hall!
Value for money - It is rather expensive for what you get, which is a shame. If they charged 30% less then it would be close to what it is worth. Therefore, 4/10

I ate here with a friend fully expecting to have a good meal. Instead what we got was that we found our waitress a bit too familiar, too chatty when what we really wanted was a chance to catch up with each other as we don't often get the chance to meet up. Still, that was something we could have overlooked but possably as a result of her being hell bent on telling us her life story she managed to get our order wrong.
Instead of offering to correct this, (it was I think your mixed starter), and getting us the right food, this was ignored by her when we pointed it out.
From that moment she became decidedly less chatty - she seemed to take particular umbridge with me as she wouldn't even look me in the eye - and the service was to say the least intermittant. When, after we had finished our main course and found ourselves at a table with no food or drink on it for several minutes we took the hint and ended our meal early.
As for the quality of the food, we found the mixed starter to be, well of mixed quality and the main we had was the Springbok. Diners ordering it that like venison will be disapointed.
Overall an extremely bad experiance and as there are so many restaurants at that location I would strongly suggest you try one of them instead.
