Inn Noodle (Queensway)

This is the second branch of Inn Noodle. I've been there several times and have thought it to be quite good. Some items are hit and miss. The Chinese Fried Onion Dough was horrible -- it was greasy, lack of onion taste and was just fried dough. The hand pulled noodles are very good and in particular go for the roast duck la-mian. The duck is delicious, tender juicy meat with lots of taste and not overly fat, just the right balance of meat and a little bit of fat under the skin. The dan-dan la mian is a complete rip-off. On the menu, it is described as being served with shredded chicken. I challenge you to find the tinsy itsy bit of chicken. The stock is very watered down and not at all like the thick spicy and rich taste that dan-dan mian should have. The xiao lung bao (Shanghai steamed pork dumpling) is the main draw and in several occasion that I have been there, it has been really good. Comparable to Leong's Legend in Chinatown. It was juicy and tasty but last week, when I went, the standard on the xiao long biao has completely dropped. It was dry and the dumplings were all shrivelled up. I was told later by the server that the chef who makes the xiao lungb bao has changed. It is a shame that consistency cannot be kept. Overall this is still a good place to go for noodles and Shanghai dim sum but you need to be careful what you order. Also, note of caution, service charge is not listed on the menu but is discreetly added onto your bill.
