Amazing fresh and authentic food. Best outside of Italy! The restaurant is also cosy and atmospheric. What a great Islington restaurant.

Four of us have just enjoyed one of the loveliest meals any of us have had in ages. The food, the staff and the ambience were wonderful..the background music of well-known jazz and light opera a welcome change from the tuneless and irritating background beat some restaurants seem to favour. The staff were passionate about the food, and clearly wanted us to enjoy it.
The starter portions were generous, and the fish, pasta and chicken in our main courses were some of the nicest we've had anywhere. We highly recommend Antonio's for a lovely evening out - it would suit a romantic couple, a group of friends, a business meeting...just about any occasion at all if what's wanted is exceptional Italian food in a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff who take pride in their work.

Antonios is a lovely Italian just off Upper Street - it's the perfect venue for a romantic night out. You have to book in advance as this place is just so popular - you can see why. The menu is varied with a wonderful choice. There was plenty to choose from for my vegetarian wife - she eats white fish and had a wonderful Sea Bass - while I'm a meat eater and had a great steak. The staff are very friendly and provide a great service, what you come to expect from a warm, authentic family run restaurant. We shall certainly visit this little gem again soon.

Went here last Sunday for family birthday lunch. First impressions were good, tucked away from the main road and a welcoming cosy room. Went downhill from there really as five of us were seated at a table more suited to three. My husband asked if he could have a spaghetti main couse served as a starter portion and was informed that this wasn't possible, how can it not be possible to cook less spaghetti?! When the starters arrived, two came before the others and had to be sent back as they were cold. When the mains eventually arrived (1 hr and 15mins after the starters), the main spaghetti was well cooked, although no squid in the seafood dish despite being listed as such on the menu. Desserts were so over priced we should have complained, two of us ordered the same cake and they had blatantly cut one portion in two, at nearly £6 each this was not what you expect. When the wine arrived wasn't quite chilled enough so we asked for a further bottle to be chilled which was fine when it arrived, when we asked for a third informed there was no more of that type of wine. These were all small points, which on their own could be ignored but all together it led to a disappointing experience. To top all this off, the upstairs part of the restaurant which you had to walk to to get to the toilets was a building site and the fire alarm wasn't working so a poor member of staff had to sit in the cold with a hand bell in case of fire! Not an experience to be repeated.

The food, Service and ambience of Antonios is perfect - the candlit dining room and attentive staff made it one fo the best meals we've had a in long time.
I can highly recommend the crescentini, the calabrase lollipops - the wild boar ragu - Delicious.

We went to Antonio's for Sunday dinner with the special offer at £18.50 with a complimentary glass of bellini. The menu of the offer was very limited especially for the main courses (3 pasta and parmigiana di melanzane). The food was average and portions quite small. The prices of the regular menu are incredibly high. On a positive note, the atmosphere is very nice and romantic and the service is good.
Would never go back.

Overall an incredibly average Italian restaurant.
The venue is an old factory that has been revamped with lots of candles and mood lighting. The staff are lovely and very accommodating but that is where it stops.
The food was overpriced and incredibly average. I ordered crab pasta for main. The pasta was definitely from a packet and was undercooked. The 'crab meat' had definitely come from a can and was cold and hadn't been drained properly. The pasta had no flavour whatsoever and cost almost £13.
A few fellow diners ordered a meat main and said the food was stone cold when it arrived.
The venue looks nice and the service is great but the food is flat out terrible. Give this one a miss.

I went there last weekend with 8 friends. Upon arrival at the courtyard, we all looked at each other with a little uncertainty. The restaurant is right next to a car workshop. Fearlessly, we soldiered on in, and were immediately greeted with a very warm welcome. It was my birthday weekend, and the front of house staff were amazing.
The internal decor is pleasing to the eye and the lighting is just right, with huge candle jars on each table as well.
It took a while for nine very indecisive diners to pick from the printed and board menus, but when the starters arrived, there smiles all round. Without exception, each one us enjoyed our first courses immensely. The waiters were not pushy with the wine, but did not let us get to the stage of running dry without checking we were happy. This continued throughout the mains (which were, once again, of a very high standard). My seafood pasta had some of the largest langoustines I have been served in a restaurant in some time.
The first two courses meant that the bar had been raised, and the "dolce" could not let us down. And they didn't. The torte and other sweet dishes were just the right size, especially given the gargantuan previous courses.
All told, it was a lovely evening, and every effort was made by the staff there to make my birthday very special. Recommended to all.
