The Oval Lounge

This is a very friendly and comfortable local lounge/bar/restaurant close to Oval Station. Went with some friends after work and was happy to see Staropromen on tap, as well as the usual suspects and cocktails etc. The Star went REALLY well with the sweet potato wedges - some of the nicest I've had, very soft and creamy inside. There are some lounges or tables available so we found a table and had dinner. I was really impressed by the sauteed wild mushrooms with cauliflower potato cakes which was exquisite - more like a quality restaurant dish than bar food. The fish was apparently very good too - I'm not sure how the "average price" is worked out on here but that was only around £10-12, so good value. It was pretty full for a weeknight, though not crowded. It's a pity it's not my local because it looks like a nice place for summer with tables outside too.
