I recently ordered from them for a small party . Though the food was good, I had the following issues
- In the afternoon, on the day of the party, I was told the dessert I had asked for could not be delivered. This was told to me when I called for an update. They did not have the courtesy to call and let me know.
- Food arrived 1 hour late. Few of the guests had to leave without eating
- We had requested that each dish be delivered in big containers which could be used for serving. They had promised to do that. But the food was delivered in small regular takeaway containers and we had to organise serving dishes at the last minute.
- Some of the food had spilt and could not be used.
- The quantity of the main dish was not adequate at all. We had paid a per person rate and had ordered for more than the actual number for guests that came. When we called to let them know, the answer was "your guests must have been very hungry".
- the owners were very discourteous and their general attitude seems to be "take it or leave it. We dont care what you feel and what feedback you give". Also they never call you back when they say they will.
I would not recommend their home catering service at all.

This restaurant offers a great takeaway delivery service, the food is always delivered fresh and hot. Great for a night in with a few beers and luckly enough for me they deliver to Datchet. Being a meat eater myself i have come to love their veg starters.

After going to this restaurant and ordering takeaways since it was opened, I am very disappointed with how the standards have deteriorated.
There no consistency to the flavour and spice of the food, this must be due to different chefs used.
On 14th Feb I ordered a takeaway at 7:48pm and was told it would be 1hr 45mins, I was happy with this as they had told me. 10pm I was still chasing my order and was told the driver had gone missing and they would re-cook the order. 10:20pm the food was finally delivered, the rice was stone cold and some of the food over cooked, The manager had clearly lied to me. I took the order back to the restaurant and requested a refund.
It is such a disappointment this restaurant has gone down hill, I have decided never to use them again and use other superior restaurants in Eton.

If you're ever in Slough this is the place to eat, an outstanding local restaurant. Offering the best Indian food I have tasted, a special mention for the starters simply out of this world. Keep up the great work.

Well, I've been living about 8 miles north-east of Slough for the past fifty-something years, and to my knowledge Slough has NEVER been in London. It was once part of Buckinghamshire, but London? No.
Hmmm, The Temple Monkey. I was tempted by the excellent reviews, but on the night I visited, which was not a particularly busy Friday, I found it to be a very ordinary restaurant on all levels. The decor was nice and my starter was quite nice, but then that would apply to a hundred other Indian restaurants within the Berkshire boundaries. My main course of 'Butter Chicken Tikka Masala' was actually below average and lacked flavour. There was nothing special about this place, which disappointed me because after reading the reviews I expected more, especially at these pumped-up prices.
The biggest disappointment was the service. One waiter in particular - a tall chap who appeared to be in charge - didn't really want to be there. The diners were all a nuisance to him and I never saw him smile. At the end of the meal I had to ask him FOUR times for the bill over a period of about 15 minutes. I never got it. I had to take my money to him in the bar area, where he begrudgingly settled my account.
I'm sorry to be one of the few to give a bad review on this restaurant, but considering the higher-than-average prices for their dishes, diners really should expect a lot more for their hard earned cash.
After frequenting Indian restaurants for more than three decades, I think I know what we should expect when going out for a curry, and this place did not reach my expectations. In fact it fell a long way short. I will not be returning to The Temple Monkey.

Small venue, so advisable to book. I would opt to order a wider variety of starters as this is where they truly excel. The mains are typical of your local Indian restaurant. Cosy ambience, ideal for a nice romantic evening. The manager was extremely helpful, so get his advice on what dishes to select, and your spice preferences if unsure. It'll add to your experience. Defintely recommend.
I hope they don't make the mistake other newly opened restaurants, that I've been to, have done, after becoming popular, since it's an ideal place to enjoy cuisine different to your traditional Indian fayre. Hike prices ridiculously & lower food quality, which leads to them going downhill rapidly.

In a Word "Excellent" ive been fortunate enough to eat at some great restaurants all over the world and love Indian food, this is up there with the best and better value than anything in the same catagory, Great service along with great food, and a really nice little place to enjoy it all in.
Each sauce is distinct not your typical offering of different dishes with exactly the same taste. Quality ingredients can really be distinguished and all the flavors flood through. Infact writing this im going to go there again tonight.

Slough does not have much to shout about when it comes to good restaurants. So when I started to hear good things about this newly opened restaurant, thought I would pay a visit myself. After driving around for nearly 30 minutes trying to find it, trust me you would not know this place exists, it is that tucked away. However in a funny sort of way its quaint location adds to this restaurants appeal.
The bar and restaurant is well thought out, impressive décor and fixtures give this place a touch of class in a much understated fashion. The service is friendly, polite and professional, someone always avaible when you need them. But the food must take top billing sublime, mouthwatering and delightful are just some of the words that come to mind. The chef came out to ask us how the food was, we had a nice chat with him; then just when we thought things could not get any better, he offered us an complementary dessert to try, a type Indian rice pudding which was warm, rich and delicious.
Thank you The Temple Monkey for a great evening

Was staying in the hotel next to the restaurant all this week. Have spent the last 4 nights eating at The Temple Monkey and each night the food was of the highest quailty. Newly opened i think, really does sit out from any other restaurant locally. Lovely little bar upstairs not selling the normal big brand beers you get everywhere else. Everything about this place has been well thought out, from decor, food and the service.
