I didn't really eat in The Morrison before because I'd never really saw it as a place that would do good food. How wrong was I.

We went for Sunday Roast & apparently they have just hired a new chef who they claimed was pretty good. The food came out quickly which was good, however I couldn't believe the portion sizes, especially as it only cost £8.95!

They had a full selection, Beef, Lamb, Pork & Chicken - or you could go for the mixed meat which I did! My firned had the Chicken which was actually a chicken cut into two! The veg's were really nice & the gravy was quite moorish.

That, OJ & lemonade, a couple of Bloody Mary's, the Sunday Times and chilled out music in the background & we had the perfect hangover cure!!

Definately one to be repeated and recommended!

Great pub, good atmosphere, really friendly service, food is basic pub food but tasts good and is value for money. A little pricey but not compared to some of the places around here.

Don't know whether the last reviewer was talking about the same place to be honest, every time i've been in here I've had a great night. They tend to get some big rugby names in there as well. Saw some of the Wasps team in there the other night and I've seen some of the London Irish boys in there before.

I go to The Morrison quite often as I live just down the road. I usually have a Sunday roast in there & I've never been dissapointed - how can you be when you have a huge plateful for nine pounds! In fact, I'm usually pretty full up and slouching on one of the sofa's drinking wine & feeling thoroughly satisfied.

The last reviewer must be talking about a different place, It's always pretty busy at the weekends and its quite but got atsmosphere whenever I've been in there during the week.

I'm not going to stop going there!! I get what I want and I get looked after... great local!

The Morrison is a strange pub, perhaps its the feng shui perhaps its the management but in all its incarnations it has never been a truly good pub and always performed best when it was a bar. Compared to other local pubs its just not as good and best avoided. It is still in existance because it is on the Chelsea Drag. The Food is bellow average, as are the drinks. Its the last resort or a good place to go if you dont want to see anyone you know

i have just moved in around the corner and could not have asked for a more friendly welcome from the chirpy irish guy behind the bar (owner / manager?) and a cute & friendly bunch of Aussies bargirls. this is a great local place for good pub grub and local pints - friday night was wild. we're now regulars.

I live locally and The Morrison became a regular haunt until the bar staff started resting on their laurels. Bar service is arrogant, food is mediocre and local residents are drifting back to Jim Thompson and its Thai delights nearby. It's a familiar story in this area - bars start well, work hard, then take the wealthy locals for granted. Trouble is - we vote with our feet and wallets.

After trying (and failing) to get a table at the Lots Road Pub & Dining Room for a Sunday roast we ventured into The Morrison. It was empty, save for one lone punter sitting at the bar, chain-smoking and watching the footie, and a couple snuggling on the sofas. It didn't bode well. Nonetheless, we were warmly welcomed in by the bar staff, who came to take our order at our table. The menu is not extensive (soup for starter, roast chicken or beef with trimmings for main, chocolate cake or bread&butter pudding for dessert). We skipped starters and both went for the roast beef. The portions were more than generous, with a huge Yorkshire pudding, 2-3 slices of beef (small gripe here: beef was well done and a little tough), broccoli, roasted root veg, roast tatties and green beans. Only problem was they should've warmed the plates up as the meal got cold very quickly. We shared the chocolate cake for dessert; doubtful that it was made inhouse (the "circular icing" was a dead giveaway) and it wasn't spectacular. Good bloody mary's. Service is cheerful. I'd go again -- if they promise to warm the plates!
