We went to Gourmet Pizza twice last week when we were in London (week of Nov 7 2010) and we found it to be fantastic. I'm not sure where the previous reviewer went because our waitresses were great, the food was wonderful (one of the best pizzas my wife and I have ever had - who would have thought that a beet and gorgonzola pizza could have been sooooo good?), the appetizers (especially the stuffed mushrooms with a Pinot Grigio to complement) were great. We plan on going back when we have the chance. And it was cold, wet and dark - so you don't just need the view of the Thames.

We had an early dinner on Sunday 10th October, the worst eating out experience we’ve had in a very long time! Service was jawdroppingly bad from the outset, and the food was not great either. The waiter was very rude and unprofessional, and the manager wasn’t much better!
Our food came nearly an our after we ordered it, and the waiter forgot to bring our starters and coffee and so brought everything at once with our main meal. When the food finally came it was very disappointing. I’ve eaten better pizza for a quarter of the price!!. Our table was right opposite to the kitchen door, and what was behind the door was not a pretty site- very dirty.
The reason we chose this restaurant was because it was busy and we assumed the food would be good, but in hind site its obvious that its a busy restaurant due to the high number of tourists visiting the area.
I’ve never written a restaurant review in my life, but after visiting this place i had to write one, if only to warn people considering going here to think otherwise!!

We had an early lunch on a wet August Thursday, two of us with our three-month-old baby. Entering was up steps only, although assistance was offered via a call bell. Service started as a bit frosty but warmed as the meal went on. The waitress was initially quite surly but when we left after paying another waiter she made an effort to say goodbye from the doorway.
The food was good, we started with olives and doughballs, had a duck and goats cheese/bacon pizzas and finished with tiramisu and zabaglione/ice cream bombe. I would say the quality matches Pizza Express so it shouldn't disappoint for a day-out lunch or a weekend break evening meal. Very good value for money for a tourist area and I'd be happy to return. I would imagine it's a fun, lively place at night and would like to try it at that time on another visit to the area.
The atmosphere was good for a wet midweek day and appeared to be a lunchtime haunt for nearby workers, which means other diners were relaxed and in familiar surroundings. The area (Gabriel's Wharf) was a nice find as I'd been past it many times and not noticed it, with plenty of small independent shops and a cycle hire.
