I have eaten at many branches of Pizza Express in London. They are a mixed bag. This is not one of the better ones.
From start to finish we experienced a surly attitude from various members of staff who have clearly never heard of the old axiom "the customer is always right". It was quite extraordinary. One gets the impression the staff think customers are doing them a favour by visiting this branch.
Perhaps they feel they can get away with poor service/poor attitude because most of their customers are tourists visiting St. Paul's cathedral and will never be seen again. Having said this, the service at the nearby Cafe Rouge, which also serves many tourists, has consistently good service.
Although the food was no worse than other Pizza Express branches, I would only return to this branch as a last resort.
