TimeOut - 4/5

Thursday, June 04, 2009 - This Iranian restaurant has a strikingly modern interior, largely inherited from the bar that occupied the site before it. So you can sink into a huge black leather banquette for your feast of subtly marinated chicken or lamb kebabs, slow-cooked khoresh stews, and faloodeh shaved-ice desserts. We loved the flavours of the dried Persian plum in a sweet and sour vegetble stew (khoresh e aloo esfenaaj), and also the sour tang of sundried lemons in the diced lamb and split peas stew (khoresh e gheymeh). The latter had a rösti-like mesh of tiny potato chips on it to vary the texture a bit.

As a Iranian, I have to say that Tandis is one of the best Iranian cousin in London. Last night I was there with my friends for first time and we really enjoyed the delicious food and also nice and modern atmosphere .

I recommend to everyone It's worthy to go there and try it.

Couldn't recommend this restaurant enough!

First time we got there we just stumbled across it and decided to try. It was a very pleasant surprise. The food was excellent, and quite cheap! (between £7.5 and £12 for a main course).

We went there again tonight and loved it even more. Delicious! big portions too.

Highly recommended!!!

The food was overall a very good experience. The main dishes could have been more inventive though in the sense, that they only contained meat rice and one tomato. The service was very friendly and the place itself stylish and clean. The price was quite cheap for the good quality of the food! Not to mention the tasty cocktails. It's definitely worth visiting.

I have been to every single persian restaurant in London and Tandis is just something else.

The decor is fantastic and the bar itself sells the place.

Unlike most persian restaurant, Tandis has obviously had designers involved and they have created a cosy but at the same time classy place with 4 different rooms each with different ecor.

For starters we had a Sini Mazzeh for £10 to include Mast moosir, Sabzi khordan, kashke badenjaan and mirzaghasemi and 1 bread which was home made and tasted and smelled nicely. The youghurt is apparently home made as well and it was lovely.

For main course I had a chenjeh soltani and the wife had joojeh ba ostokhoon(poussin on the bone) and the kebabs would just melt in your mouth.

The Doogh(youghurt drink) was so nice it would remind you of dooghe abali.

The staff are very polite and the prices are very reasonable.

Thank you guys for the good job and hope you keep it this way.

Dos Hermanos

Friday, July 03, 2009 - Baghali Polo Ba Maahicheh was a sizable chunk of lamb shank with a large pile of rice mixed with lots of butter, fresh dill and broad beans. Zereshk Polo Ba Morgh was another sizable mound of rice, this time flecked with saffron and covered in sour barberries. Both dishes were delicious. The lamb fell off the bone at the first touch of a fork and the second pile of rice gave way to reveal large amounts of chicken which had been cooked slowly in more saffron.
