Having visited this restaurant on the weekend for a special occasion, I was massively disappointed and left feeling rather very angry. We were booked to make use of the '50% off main courses' offer, but were misled with the T&Cs. In an attempt to resolve this issue, we had to speak to the Manager who was outrageously rude and incredibly unprofessional. The Manager refused to back down (whatever happened to 'the customer is always right'?!) and we were forced to pay an unreasonable amount for our meal which, to be quite honest, was mediocre. We were also left waiting to receive our side orders, causing our main meal to go cold.
Following our meal, my friend got home only to discover that her flatmate had experienced exactly the same situation in the same restaurant with the same incredibly rude Manager.
I would definitely not recommend going to this restaurant.

Neither fantastic nor terrible. We went on a Monday night and the place was pretty dead. The menu is fairly simple and a cynic would suggest that MPW has designed something fairly formulaic which requires little or no "art" in the kitchen. French Onion soup was perfectly acceptable, and a fillet steak was a little dry but edible. Triple-cooked chips were very decent indeed. Puddings were fine too.
We booked a 50% offer through London Eating and this was honoured without a fuss. Its just about fair value for money with the discount included, but the quality does cannot sensibly command the full price.

Hugely disappointing experience.
We booked a table through a lastminute.com deal and it seemed that our waiter thought this deserved second rate service. The food available on the offer menu was also poor, I have had far better for a fraction of the price in the local pub. Half the menu was no longer available and, somewhat bizarrely, despite ordering two different starters (potted duck and kipper pate) they arrived as virtually identical dishes - a slice of pate with two pieces of toast. The only difference was one had a sprig of parsley and the other a slice of Gherkin! The main course (salmon) was very uninspired and a paltry portion. Vegetables and potatoes (bland) were then priced at an additional £3.75 a portion. The dessert was good - sticky toffee pudding - but with none of the flair we had hoped from a Marco Pierre White restaurant.
Presumably the restaurant is advertising this offer to drum up custom and encourage repeat business, but having had a hugely disappointing meal and being made to feel we warranted the "cheapskate" service, I will certainly not be rushing to return.

I often read the reviews of varying restaurants i visit but won't make judgement until i've been there myseflf - so i decedied to visit MPW S&A. Unfortunately I wish i had listened to the reviews. Overall this restaurant is very poor. Starters = average, Steak = poorley cooked and tough, Dessert (Eton Mess) = sickly with low quality ingredients; Service = slow and forgetful even though the restaurant was under half full.
One other point to note is the number of menu's this restaurant has: at one time we had 16 menu's on our table between 4 of us which were all varying combinations of the same old food - this is never a good sign from a supposedly world renowned chef.
I would recommend to anyone looking for a good Steak restaurant in the City to steer well clear of here. I would suggest taking a left out of the door and a left on Bishopsgate and heading to Boisdale of Bishopsgate or alternatively head to Gaucho for their slick service and great atmosphere.

I am amazed by the reviews I have read below. I am a huge fan of this restaurant, and have dined here on a number of occasions with friends, family and business clients. The food is always top-notch, and the service alike.
Their steaks are great, and I love the crab starter. Will be returning time and time again.

Awful from start to finish. VERY expensive for what it was. Starters were an average of £15, which is a lot of money. The mains were approx £30. Puddings at £7.50. Even with the 50% off main course deal we each paid approx £60!!!! Daylight robbery.
The food was NOT particularly tasty and incredibly clumsy. Very-very plain food. Perhaps it was going for classic British feel but classic should NOT mean BLAND?! Although I ordered medium rare for my mains it was well and truly cooked beyond believe. Even I could get that right on my domestic stove. All my diner friends' meat were overcooked. Tables across from us were sending overcooked meat back to the kitchen. We didn't just in case ... we got kicked out of the restaurant (ala Hell's Kitchen). Pudding is sooooo bland. Felt like it was scooped out of Sainsbury or Tesco.
The service was very amateur. Thumbs down.

Lads night out started at Marco White's Steakhouse close to work (near Spittalfields).
Drinks in the bar before, we had real ales from a great selection but there was also a very amiable cocktail bar tender on hand. Nice to see Black Sheep in London.
Jo the manager took us through to our table in the open plan room and set the standard for the friendly and professional service that we enjoyed for the rest of the night.
Food was really very very good, not fussy and generous portions but extremely well done. There wasn't a weak dish served all night. My highlights were potted duck and sirloin steak. Steak cooked as ordered, sides delicious, meat so good I have not had better.
All the boys were very pleased, a better alternative to Gaucho, very busy too and quite a few decent looking birds in, will be back for lunch.

Very disappointing.
We booked at table for the evening for 11 people and quite honestly not a single person was impressed. Let’s look at the four areas:
Food: The food was mediocre, steaks were not cooked to the requirements requested for most people in the group. One person summed it up as “good pub food”.
Service: Slow, very slow. The whole “experience took 2 ½ hours. Most people were itching to go. The staff seemed rushed off their feet and were not that friendly. Two of the deserts were not available.
Atmosphere: Ok
Value for money: Very poor, expensive and food not that good. None of us will be going back.
