What a cracking Pub/ Gastropub/ Place to get food/ Boozer.
We went with some friends who live nearby for a Sunday Roast 2 weeks ago and were pleasantly surprised. A bit of a mix up of furniture, you can see the owners are after a relaxed/ British style, which they have achieved in a fantastic old building. It feels cosy whilst being big enough for us to get a table for four at 2.30pm on a Sunday afternoon. Three went for the roast (a great portion of beef or chicken with the usual trimmings) and I went for the haddock in the end which was cooked perfectly and just the job for a steak and wine fuelled hangover. I also tried one of their Bloody Mary’s, having seen a fellow diner carrying what looked like a cocktail-come-pot plant and asking for the same. Not cheap (£8 ish) but a perfect Sunday afternoon accompaniment.
Only negative was a bit of a delay on food (30 minutes) which was not mentioned when we ordered.
The Queen of Adelaide is definitely one to visit if you’re near Shepherds Bush and remotely considering a Sunday Bloody Mary.

A welcome additon to the burgeoning Shepherd's Bush 'Gastro Pub' scene. Sensitively resotred to it's Victorian grandeur, dimly lit and spacious, certainly a pleasant venue for a drink. The food is also rather good with a particulary fine steak and kindney pudding providing high quality comfort.
