Byron (King's Rd)
your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne
I've made about six visits to Byron - here and in Wardour Street. It's been consistently good. The burgers are the best I've eaten in a restaurant in London - and better than Bar Buloud's (which i love, but think is better for other dishes). The coleslaw and skin-on chips are perfect. Other sides can be a little too greasy.
I'd like them to expand their wine offering as the reds all seem to be on the 'hot' side. But all in all - really recommend and hope they keep up the standard.

We have been to this Byron and the one in High Street Kensington more than once, and it is a good chain. I have no complaints on atmosphere, food, service, but you do need to watch what you spend.
Four of us managed to end up with a bill for £140, which is a hell of a lot for a hamburger joint. We weren't conned or stupid, but perhaps not concentrating as hard as we should have been, so it will pay you to be careful. Our wine turned out to be £21 a bottle, and by the time you have added an onion ring or two, some chips and olives, bottled water and a couple of puddings, you will find that you may have spent more than you had bargained for.
But we had a good evening nevertheless. I cannot criticise Byron for lack of value for money because we chose what we ordered; simply that we could (and probably should) have dined there marginally less well for considerably less money.

One of the few places in Chelsea where I can feed four kids and myself without an argument or breaking the bank. It feels less like a chain than others I've been to in London and the quality of the burgers is consistently high. Service can be hit and miss, depending on who you get and the time of day, but never too bad.
Recommendations: the classic cheeseburger with Monterey Jack (just like back home!!), the onion rings and the shakes. Not a big fan of the Byron sauce - go for the aioli or spicy BBQ instead. My daughter insists on the Skinny which has no bun so good for carb-free diets.
Overall, they're not the absolute best burgers I've ever had but they are tasty and a lot better than most I've tried in London. Give it a try!
