I have been a regular customer here for 2 years, they are the best burgers but when I went in last week I was shocked by the apalling service and promptly left. Sulky rude waitresses are a big no no, such a shame as always been good before.

'The best burgers in London' is their line...

I couldn't agree more. As simple as that.

Went to Hache last night for the second time and was not overly impressed, but not disappointed.

The service was hectic, but that was understandable as it was very busy and the owners were eating there as well. We still got our food quickly without any mistakes and the manager kindly swapped our glasses of wine, which tasted odd, for two alternative drinks.

My chicken burger with bacon and avocado wouldn't light any fires (a little bit over cooked), but definitely filled the hole. I'm not totally sold on burgers being served in massive wedges of ciabatta. I'm a traditionalist and expect it to come in a soft burger bun with a good zingy relish. The portion size for the fries were excellent and you could definitely get away with one portion between two (unless your girlfriend has a huge appetite...). They weren't the best fries I've ever had, but crispy and tasty enough to keep me happy.

In terms of value - two chicken club burgers, two portions of fries, a side of gherkins, a beer and a glass of wine came to £35 including service, which is definitely good value for the area.

The choice last night was between Byron and Hache - we chose Hache because of it's proximity to the cinema. Next time I'll settle for the longer walk.

I'm trying to decide if I liked Hache or not. I keep on going back when I want a burger though.

Even though Hache touts that they have gourmet burgers, its nothing special. What I did like was the chunky chips with the garlic mayo. That was worth going out for. Other diners are a bit snooty, and annoyed me to sit next too, but over all, decent place for a burger and fries.

Pig Pig's Corner

Pig Pig's Corner

Monday, September 21, 2009 - I had Le Sicilian, which had Parma ham and melted mozzarella cheese added on top of the basic beef burger. The beef itself, cooked medium rare to order, was reddish pink in the middle with the lovely smell and taste of the griddle. It was seasoned quite lightly I feel, a pinch more salt and pepper would be ideal, but the meat was juicy and beefy enough to make me happy...I have to say that so far, this is the best burger joint I've sampled in London.
