Hason Raja

Popped in for a buffet lunch during one of my long distance walks across the city and it was one of the best buffet lunches I've ever eaten and the best time to visit the restaurant as you can eat as much as you like for only a measly £9.95 including a drink and service charge of course but it's below the mighty £15 so that's not so bad.
Hason Raja will be experiencing more of my custom for buffet lunches in the unforseeable future I dare say.

da waiters do understnd hindi as most bengali pple do, and it does serve indian food as bangladeshis eat the same food as indians, also nearly all 'indian' takeaways and restaurants are owned by bangladeshis. good customer service, lovely food, reasonably priced i will defo go back

Good food but very annoying service. Pushed us into eating far more than we needed. Made us feel uncomfortable and then had the annoying habit of including service charge in the bill and then offering the credit card machine for a tip. Not cheap for what you get. Won't go back. Shame

I went here on a 50% off offer and hadn't read any reveiws before hand so was surprised to come here and see such bad reviews. I found service to be very good, let us change the time when we were late. The food was delicious and unique and I am going back this week!

Hason Raja is the name of a famous King In Banglasdesh, hence the Bangladeshi Cuisine, also you may also find that 9 out of 10 Indian Restaurants are owned and run by Bangladeshi's and the food is very similar if not the same.
Personally l belive the food is great with great service to go with it.

I went there on a saturday evening and it wasnt busy, the service wasnt very good and I believe the food was not value for money, the waiters didnt understand either english or hindi and they serve bangladeshi cuisine rather than Indian food, and the decor is stale & boring, I wouldnt really recommend it and am not going back !!

Visited the restaurant yesterday...i found out it very pleasant. The food was ravishing, and never have I seen these dishes anywhere else in any other indian restaurant. Service was exceptional, and i reckon it is very good value for money.

went ther last week, week of 4/24/06
overpriced, had two dishes, one each. food was tasty but small protions they asked if we wnated Popadoms, never delivered them and tried to charge us for them as well as Chutney, which we never received. Waiters rude, ignored us once meal delivered. Never asked if we wanted anything else etc. Charged 5 pounds for two very tiny plates white rice(equal to $10.00 us for white rice!!)
we had very little to eat and a bottle of wter, would not give us tap water, so paid ridiculous price for bottle of water, whihc i almost suspect was filled form the tap. Ripped off.. and rude waiters and owner.

Is it a co-incidence that several of the positive reviewers here mis-spell the word “definitely”?
Prominent board in the middle of the street advertises special at £8.50 for 2 courses. On requesting this, told it was only available pre-theatre. OK – so we ordered poppadums, 2 main courses and 2 vegetable dishes + rice, bread and drinks between 3. They told us this is not allowed, each person must order a main course with value per person of min £10.00. (They finally relented on this rule).
On the way out we checked the sign – no mention of pre-theatre only – so remonstrated with manager. Waiter claimed he never said it was pre-theatre only, manager said it was pre 8.00 pm only, another staff member said before 10.00 only. Clearly – policy is whatever the waiter can get away with.
Food average, prices high, non-optional 12.5% service. Aimed at tourist market. Avoid.
