EXCELLENT RESTAURANT. NOT TOO EXPENSIVE AND FOOD IS SPOT ON. CAN`T WAIT TO BE BACK. SERVICE COULD BE BETTER THOUGH.

A gem! This is a very authentic Japanese restaurant with excellent cooking and reasonable prices (relative to the quality of the food). Not particularly atmospheric but the service was good. Everything we had from the menu was great, with particularly good tempura and yakitori. Will definitely be going back.

My experience of yesterday at this local eatery was horrible. We were 10 minutes late on our booking and they had given our table away to someone else. They made us sit upstairs which is a horrible place without any sense of decor or ambience.
The Yakitori was not nice at all and everything else tasted very basic. The prices are extortionate for what you get and I feel the only reason this restaurant is well regarded is because of the lack of other Japanese restaurants in the surrounding area. We told the staff of our experience however they were too busy to bring it to the attention of the manager.
Avoid this restaurant if you do not want to be dissapointed.

Great restaurant, people are nice and friendly, food is really good. Decided to try something other than pasta and fish. Really different. Great place to have lunch at.

Oops! It seems the last reviewer must be very very close to the restaurant!
I am sure all restaurants have good days and bad days. I have been to this restaurant twice on their good day and on Saturday, which was clearly their bad day. The restaurant was not full at all however the food took ages to arrive. The staff stand at the far end and speak to each other (in i guess their native language) and have a giggle.
The food is normally of a good standard however the service and the atmosphere is a let down.

All of the bad comments are all absolute rubbish, how would you feel running a restaurant where you have to serve 50 people at one time and satisfy all of them? It's just not possible. There is a set lunch for £10, coming with rice, salad and soup. Great stuff, I recommend the Yakitori Lunch, Absolutely perfect. Staff are chatty and funny and always helpful.

East Finchley is becoming a great place to eat out. This restaurant is another example of a good local restaurant however it lacks in providing an ambience. The restaurant is small and tables quite close to each other. The grilled items are great however the portions could be a bit larger!
The service was a bit unattentive as I had wait to grab attention of the waitress. Be prepared to pay £30 per head for a decent meal.

I have been here twice, once for dinner, once for lunch. I had a great meal both times, staff were helpful, albeit a bit slow, food was great, and yes, it's a bit pricey, but it's well worth it!

I tried this restaurant when it first opened last year and again over the bank holiday weekend. The grilled items are good however the rest is pretty mediocre. The service was unhelpful and slow during the busy times and there is no ambience. We were seated upstairs where there are plain walls with no natural light and a couple of not very japanese paintings on the walls.
A bit expensive @ £30 per head.
