If you want good food and don't mind paying a high price than this is definitely the place to go. The focus is quality and not quantity. The restaurant has been full every time i've been. My children love eating here and it is the restaurant of choice for them. Unfortunately at £150 per visit for a family of 4, it's not somewhere we can afford to come very often!

I was on a training course in East Fincley over the weekend and happended to walk past Taso when I was looking for somewhere to eat lunch. So glad that I went in. From the £10 lunch menu I had some really fantastic prawn and vegetable tempura, with rice, pickles, miso soup and a really fresh salad. Terrific value value for money and the food was delicious. I went to Japan on holiday a couple of years ago and Tosa really is authentic. Please open a branch in Clapham Junction!

I can sum up my experience in 5 points.

1. Good Food.

2. Very Small Portions.

3. Very Expensive to dine in.

4. No Ambience unless you sit by the grill.

5. Good Service and attentive staff.

Value for money? At £33 per head for 2 drinks and 2 courses, it is difficult to say yes!

Superb food and service! We discovered this place back in July this year and since has become our regular dining out venue. I love Sushi and my wife loves the Japanese open fire grills. Oscar deserved!

I have eaten here several times now. I find it addictive. I love the grilled skewers. Food is great, authentic and tasty. £1.50ish for a skewer seemed okay price wise BUT I guess it depends on how much you eat\drink. I like the idea of sitting by the grill but unless you sit back it does get hot.

Foodwise you must try Shisomaki which is simply divine. I always annoy myself because I have to eat the Mackerel, which is wonderful.

Cant wait for my next visit !

We visited this restaurant 31/03/11 and thought the place was i bit small. there were 5 of us but we managed to get a table by the grill counter. The waitress recommended some really popular dishes and because i had an allergy there were certain dishes i could not eat but the waitress took care of us all evening pointed out each dish to me. The food was good quality and service was excellent spot on! Will definately go back.

tasty Japanese food and reasonable prices. Why people write reviews and moan about prices is beyond me; prices are listed on menus and we have a choice.

A good Japanese restaurant with a very good value for money lunch set at £10, including rice, miso soup, salad and the main. I think this is the best lunch set in town!

The evening menu is a bit pricier than the lunch set but to be honest its no more expensive than other similar Japanese restaurants in London of similar quality. The only complaint I have is that the katsu is sometimes overcooked and dry at times.

The people who complain about the price obviously have no clue about what to order and just order the stuff they know "Tempura" and "Teriyaki" and not venture into other cheaper but just as tasty dishes. eg. the hirei-katsu is well priced and is the best type of katsu so why bother with the tonkatsu?

Most westerners will never realise that these dishes need to be eaten with rice and that is the reason for their bill being high as they just eat the main dishes.

To summarise, all the ignorant complainers should learn to eat food as it is supposed to be eaten and not in your own way. If after that you still are not happy then its just a matter of taste.

this restaurant is mediocre and far too expensive. Not worth a try unless you are fairly new to Japanese!
