Thursday, July 18, 2013 - The ground-floor martini bar is a striking space with high ceilings and an art deco mirror-backed bar. The first-floor dining room is similarly opulent. If only the food lived up to the surroundings. Maryland crab cake would be laughed out of its native state. Small, dry and mealy, it’s the exact opposite of the real thing I ate in Baltimore...If your expense account allows, you could spend £70 on wagyu beef, delivered by an over-fussy and intrusive front-of-house team in a room sadly lacking in atmosphere.

Saturday, June 08, 2013 - Has Christopher's upped its game to respond to the steak and burger-peddling newbies parking their tanks on its lawn? Well, in short, no. The American classics we tried were mediocre – a £32 surf'n'turf combo of under-seasoned burger and overcooked lobster; a tender but more or less tasteless New York strip steak; forgettable fries, tobacco onions with a weird peppery aftertaste.

We had an absolutely fantastic dinner at Christopher's! Steak was just right. The dessert was aptly indulgent. The lovely atmosphere was complemented by friendly and efficient service. Thoroughly enjoyable and would certainly go back again!
