Finally a Laksa worth ordering!! Thick with coconut milk, spicy ,all good, plust the portion was huge! Starters were also very good. Service not great and took a while to get the bill but for £10 for starters/mains/tea who cares!
Suspect it could be a bit too busy on the weekend so try it out on a week night! Loved it!

Is this place a victim of it's own success? we ate while 19 people crowded round the tables waiting to get a seat. My main course arrived a stressful 15 minutes before my partners and none of the staff would even come over and talk to us when we kept asking where the food was. We never did get our whole order and left truely fed up. The reason finally given was they were busy. There was no attempt at 'customer recovery' so I think I'll be giving it a miss until they get the right number of staff for the number of people they attempt to serve.

One of the best oriental food in south west! Me and my wife Michelle used to go there all the time, my world's favorite beer "Kirin Itban Shibory" combined with the amazing "Dragon Roll" are supperb... Unfortunately when the Chinese Sushi man is not there the sushi is not the same, in that case I would go for a hot dish!
Some staff are friendly, some just ok. Overal, very good food and beers, cheap and a very professional kitchen staff, as a chef point o view. Highly recommended,
Marcos Shiro

the service is totally different from the previous, may be because the service staffs were change. i remember the previous experience that the service staff swere so friendly, helpful, and always wearing the smilely face. Some female staffs were not tight up their long hair, im afraid this will effected the hygiene purpose to the food. Dont forget that in this competative restaurant business, the service take the important role as well as the food. But anyway, the food is marvellous, the food menu had been changed and its really bring some freshes to the customer..keep it up!

Our office is very close to the restaurant and it could be, under the right circumstances, our favourite regular haunt : the place is spacious and well laid out and the food is superb .
What lets it down every time is the waiting staff - they are consistently bad-tempered and often rude, to the extent that we are considering going elsewhere .
Don't let this happen ! Have a word with them and remind them they work in the service industry : the general public is a fairly large part of that concept !

This place was terrible. No atmosphere whatsoever.Portions were small and expensive.I ordered black cod and miso. I recd a small piece of cold flake and when I enquired after the miso I was advised that I could not order miso as it was Valentines Day. The sushi was ordinary - I have had better sushi at Pret a Manger.
Service was slow with one couple next to us walking out after sitting there for 15 minutes waiting for someone to take their order.

This place served the worst Japanese food I've eaten in a while. For starters, the edamame was yellow like ageing wallpaper. The veg. tempura arrived in batter that would have been better suited to the local chippy.
Spicy tuna maki rolls were made with stodgy sushi rice; they looked, felt and tasted like they'd been rolled underfoot. The chicken katsu curry was fine but udon dish was barely edible. Service was average.
Overall, I felt cheated; like I'd sullied my tastebuds. I love Japanese food but will not return here. Chosan is two doors away and the food's far superior.

We arranged a 3 course dinner for 24 people in the private dining room at the Hare & Tortoise in Putney and had a fantastic evening. The staff were extremely helpful in allowing us to tailor-make our evening exactly to our needs. This involved providing TV and DVD facilities, allowing us to arrange our own table decorations and colour scheme as well as putting together a fantastic and reasonably priced set menu. The menu included a selection of delicious starters served as finger food on platters. This was followed by a main meal – there were 5 main meal options including a sushi option, 3 meat options and 1 vegetarian. This was then followed by two choices for dessert. Many of the guests commented on the friendly and efficient service. Thank you very much to Harry and his team for a brilliant evening, enjoyed by all – We will definitely be back!
