I have eaten from the Caribbean Scene in Stratford several times in the past and the food was OK, but after several months absence I returned today. The food was positively horrible, I ordered jerk chicken and oxtail and ended up throwing away the entire box after 2 mouthfuls, I don't know whether they have changed the chef or the seasoning but as a Jamaican it was extremely disappointing. The oxtail had no taste apart from salt, it did not even taste like oxtail and the Jerk chicken appeared to be stewed with some sort of strange seasoning. I am very upset that I wasted my money and will not be purchasing anything from Caribbean scene again unless the quality and taste of the food improves. I would definitely not recommend it as a place to eat.

My partner and I decided to visit this restaurant because I pressured him, even though at the door he begged me to go subway as he heard bad reviews. I told him to try for himself. BIG MISTAKE!!!
We waited by the door only to be ignored by 5 staff who walked PAST us around 3 times EACH!! After finally being seen, we asked to sit outside and had to pay first. They were so quick to take our money that we never saw any staff for the rest of the night.
We paid £16.70 each for our buffet meal. My partner opted for mac and cheese pie, oxtail, chicken and some other meat whilst I am a vegan and had a plate of veggies.
My partner could not get is fork through the chicken or his TEETH through the oxtail. Within 5 minutes of trying, he gave up and ate nothing. The mac and cheese tasted like kitchen towel!!! HORRIBLE!!
The staff just slapped food on the plate and hurried you along.....We went RIGHT to subway and left their food right there. I called and complained and a staff member told me she would pass my details to the manager but NEVER asked me for any name, number or email address until I asked her if she wont take it.
This restaurant should not be standing, I should have listened!

I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. I have been several times, the food is always great, the atmosphere fantastic and the service is really good. The buffet has a wide selection which caters for every taste. I love the curry goat, fish and vegetable dishes but there are also rarer traditional dishes on the menu like chicken foot stew ( I must admit this is a yuk for me, but hubby LOVES it). Keep up the good work Caribbean Scene, I will be visiting again soon

i now dine on a regular basis, was there for the news years eve party which was lovely, it could have been better promoted though to attract more people.
I currently dine here at least once per week, and I thouroughly enjoy the food and service all the time.
today with frineds for lunch and we all enjoyed the buffet. the food was fresh and tasty and looked nicely presented. the food is great value for money. for under a tennar, the cost of the lunch buffet with salad, the value is remarkable. and the food is authentic and service is ok.
I recommend this place big time. I will be attending 2 baby showers this month with friends there. and I am going to the romantic one tonight on a double date. will tell you more!!!

I took my Wife there the other night and it was a bit difficult to find as it's in the middle of nowhere.
Foodwise the starters were lovely. First we had the aki saltfish parcels with guacamole and spinach wrapped in plantain. Then the CS rack of lamb and the Steak. very tasty stuff.
What let this place down is the service. The food took ages to come, this is unacceptable, and it wasn't even that busy considering other restaurants who are more busy and can handle the people.
Although the food was good and flavoursome it wasn't good enough for what we paid. With that price you'd expect the food and service to be top notch but it wasn't.
Way too overpriced and that's without dessert. We decided to skip dessert as there wasn't much choice except cheescake and ice-cream and it was too cold for ice-cream.
Food was nice but service and price lets it down.
We will not be going again.

I'm heartened to see that this is one of an African Caribbean chain of high class restaurants. Sadly, this is rare with regards to the opportunities on offer within London's restaurant landscape.
I write to highlight the last experience at the restaurant, where I found the food delicious, the range of food wide enough, the price reasonable, particularly if one opts for the buffet, and the service and attention from our waiter Wayne friendly and professional.

I had never been to Caribbean Scene before as I was told that the service and food at this restaurant was not that great, I decided to sample it myself.
From the moment my partner and i stepped in, we were greeted warmly and shown to our table. The atmosphere was buzzing with laughter and good music and we felt 'at home'
The food was superb and the service was prompt. Many thanks to Sophia and Dima for the great service and as we promised, we will be back!

I went to the Stratford restaurant yesterday with the family and i had an amazing time!! The staff were very graceful and well mannered. I had been there before and found the service and food delicious. There were alot of birthdays being celebrated and the staff danced and cheered for all of them. The atmosphere was great and the service was very friendly. My waitress was wonderful and kept checking back on us just to make sure that we were ok. I dont like to give credit unless its due but i have to say that the buffet food was fantastic and good value for money. Excellent all round. I will defo be going back.

Visited here on a Sunday night without a reservation and had good time. It was my first experience with a Caribbean restaurant and food too really. Service was really good and attentive. It was a lively atmosphere with music and there was a big birthday booking who all were obviously enjoying themselves. I had Jerk chicken starter and Ackee and Salfish main, they were both really nice. My partner had Vegetable soup starter which was ok, and Chicken stew which was very nice. We will be returning for a friendly, casual and tasty experience.

The buffet was overpriced and poor reminded me of school dinners, the chef didnt know what one of the dishes was, the drinks were flat. But best of all was the service we waited and waited for our drinks, which were flat, we ordered desserts which after 40 mins started arriving 2 at a time with 10 min intervals for 30mins then we were informed there were no more desserts meaning half our party had no desserts. The manager was arguing with his staff in front of the customers and when we queried the bill he refused to let us leave until we paid it in full ,
