Troodos Greek Taverna

We have enjoyed several meals at Troodos. The food is excellent with very large portion sizes. I have to agree that the prices are far too cheap for whats on offer. My family spend most of our holidays in Cyprus and both the food and atmosphere are very authentic..... if not better!

Fish Meze for two: £14.95 per person
Starter was assorted dips with bread, large serving. When the calamari came out it was cold and barely edible. The remainder of the fish was inedible, potentially an acquired taste.

There are several shortcomings to this restaurant:
The food is too good, all homemade -even the puddings. The food is much too cheap. The portions are too generous.
The service too respectful; you're not pushed into ordering anything you don't want.
Recently awarded far too many stars (top marks) by Harringey hygiene standards agency.
Unbelievably good restaurant. Still working my way through the menu after several visits and I don't even eat meat.
What more can you say? OK.. just lay off the Greek Coffee, it's an acquired taste!

Always a joy to dine at this restaurant- reminds you of being on holiday in Greece or Cyprus, although a better standard of cuisine! Very well priced and good portion sizes. Family run with no sense of trying to rush you or pushing you to buy- very relaxing. Never had a bad experience here and have been going for 15 years!

we went for lunch during the week with my two sons. we were nicely suprised with the quality of the food. we had mousaka, pork kebab and tavas. as we are Greek-Cypriots we had high expectations and they were fulfilled. i would thoroughly recommend this restaurant if you want home cooked, Greek food.

Saw this place advertised in the local paper and went to try it out. As a Greek Cypriot myself, I love a good Greek meal as much as I hate a poor one.
Troodos was not busy when we arrived, which was a surprise for a Saturday night, but this was not an omen for the standard of the food. We went for the meze for 4 people (there were four of us, not 2 greedy pigs) and were relatively happy with the result. Some dishes were not to my liking (two or three Greek staples came smothered in mayonnaise in what I can only presume was an attempt to make them more Anglo-friendly) but there was more than enough food on the table to mean that I could get by without them.
There was a lot of meat on offer and it was well cooked and delicious, as it should be. The service was adequate and overall, I think that this is one of the cheapest places to get a decent Meze in North London, so value for money is exemplary.
Overall, I know a couple of better Greek restaurants, but I know many, many worse and none which offer a cheaper meze.
