The decor, food and menu selctions are brilliant. The one downfall (but the most important in my eyes) was the service. My friend was given no cutlery with his meal. When we ask for some I waited 15 mins whilst our food got cold before I went and got the cutlery myself.

They wine list does not differenciate between white, rose and red. The waiter had no idea so we had to guess.

The bill was wrong and our £15 bottle of wine magically became a £20 bottle. all by itself!!!

I went to Iroko on Sunday 9th July. My initial impression of the decor and ambience was very good. However after sitting at a table for over 20 mins we had to call for service. The waiter then preceeded to take our orders even though we hadn't been given a menu. He came back with a menu and I ordered waache, I had to repeat myself 3 times. The poor boy did not know what I meant so I had to point to it on the menu. The food when it arrived was poor, the fried plantain was inedible - the jollof rice - no comment! To give them credit the guy who served us tried his best but the other staff simply did not care and were actually annoyed with us for raising our concerns. It took the owner to come out to placate us, whilst he seemed to take out comments on board (evening offering us a discount on our next visit) - the damage was already done.

I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to and would never return.

The service was extremely poor, we had paid one waitress our bill and was hounded down by another for non payment! We had the buffet menu as it was a friends birthday. Although they were informed 40 guests were coming there wernt enough tables for everyone and some people, including myself had to eat with the plate on our laps! The food was horrible, the rice tasted the burnt and the rest had no flavour. Althought it was a buffet the food was only refilled once and we were told we could not get anymore! At £15 a head this was unacceptable.

I would never recommend this restaurant!

Iroko; great name, great service and of all wonderful food. Just went in for a starter will be back for my main dish.....can`t wait....
