I visited this place after it was recommended by a colleague. I must say it is the worst place I have eaten and visited in Hounslow.

Ordered the Mix starter and it was the worst mix grill I have eaten, minimal kebabs, cold lamb chops and the spices.. Well what spices..

I also ordered a vegetarian starter and found out 15minutes later that there had no vegetables!!!..

I should avoid this place as there are many other good and organized establishments to eat at in the Hounslow area. What a disappoint place!

DECIDED TO MEET FRIENDS AT THIS RESTAURANT FOR VAISAKI. BAD MOVE. 2 OF THE GANG ARE MEAT EATERS AND1 VEGGIE. ALTHOUGH WE TOOK THE INITIATIVE TO RESERVE A TABLE AND WE WERE THE FIRST IN BEFORE THE PLACE BECAME BUSY.

THIS IS WANT WENT WRONG. WE ORDERED OUR STARTERS OF 1 MEAT DISH AND VEGGIE PLATTER. 20 MINUTES LATER WE ARE TOLD NO VEGGIE PLATTER AND WHEN ASKED WHY THE RESPONSE WAS NO VEGETABLES. HOW DOES IT TAKE 20 MINUTES TO PASS BEFORE YOU CAN TELL A CUSTOMER THAT YOU CANNOT PROVIDE WHAT THEY ORDERED AND HOW CAN YOU NOT HAVE ANY VEGETABLES. SO THAT WAS THAT SO WE THOUGHT. WE CHECKED THAT THEY COULD PROVIDE DESI TEA..THE WAITER SMILED AND NODDED YES. 10 MINUTES LATER ..OOOPS SORRY NO DESI TEA.

Went to this restaurant out of curiosity. Always seemed to be a busy place so we thought we would give it a go. Bad decision. Out of the various dishes we ordered the chicken tikka starter was the best. The dhaba chicken punjabi style was sweet. The chilli punjabi fish was mediocre. The baingan aloo was served cold. All the food was swimming in oil!

When it was time for the bill, we got the total bill scribbled on a piece of paper and when we asked to pay by card we were informed their machine isn't working! Upon asking whether all the other customers in the restaurant knew that they would all have to pay cash we were told the machine just broke down and therefore were not able to tell us when we arrived at the restaurant! One of us had to then run across and get some cash.

A few weeks ago I ate at the New Tayabbs restaurant in the East End which seems to be acknowledged as one of the best Asian restaurants in the capital, so I have a high standard to compare Punjabi Chilli to. I stumbled on it by accident a few Fridays ago, looking for somewhere to eat before a flight from Heathrow. It is without a doubt one of the best Asian meal I have had in a long time (including in India)...the lamb cutlets were a real highlight. It isn't licensed so take your own bottle. It's somewhere I would make the effort to visit again even though I live some distance away
