4th visit in 5 months says a lot about the Naked Turtle. The menu is always changing, varied and interesting. . The food, music and ambience were as good as it's always been. offers exceptional value. Already looking forward to visit #5.

Just moved in to the area and was told about this little local restaurant and its singing waitresses.
At first went in just for the bar and had a lovely evening the owner was behind the bar and introduced me to a couple of the locals.
The first thing that strikes you is the drinks List this place has an abundance of choice.. But don't be scared off as the owner 'Paddy' has a fantastic knowledge of beer wine and spirits and will guide you through the eclectic list.
we started on the beer list with little creatures followed by an Odell India pale ale. great now only about 30 different more to go. we then moved on to the wine and opted for the house wine which was very drinkable finally we finished with an old fashioned cocktail.. Needless to say we staggered out a lot later.
On the 2nd visit we went last Sunday for lunch. I had a great roast beef the Yorkshires and the beef cooked just right. The missus had roast chicken and it was also superb.
The turtle is surprisingly good value we had 2 courses with a small glass of wine for just 14.50.
this was excluding the £2 music charge which seemed acceptable considering the standard of music
We had a guitarist playing and it gave a great chilled atmosphere also the waitresses sounded very professional, Paddy's wife was working this time and she was I’m told a former musical theatre actress and singer. The other waitresses were equally talented and provided the singing throughout the day.
We are looking forward to our next visit…. what a great local and so welcoming

Went to the Naked Turtle with a group of friends. We had booked tables. A nice looking restaurant. Some of the waitresses were lovely and friendly. Service a bit hit and miss. The music was great, classy and not overpowering. The food was ok. The bar staff very unfriendly. Be careful if you book with a group of friends. You will get charged for the meals for the people who didn't turn up. Overall, I would not go there again.

A great little local restaurant & very popular with the locals. went on the recommendation of a friend as a great place to take a first date.
This place has beautiful classy jazz singing waitresses, good cocktails, great food and is a charming little venue that is very New York in it's feel and ambience.
It has a garden at the back but it was too chilly to sit there last night but i will be back soon as they do a brunch at weekends.
the food is of great quality with seasonal produce but not fussy.
highly recommended

Visited the Naked Turtle for the first time last night and was really impressed. We opted for the fixed menu which was great value (£12.95 for two courses plus a glass of house wine). For the price I expected something pretty standard but was really impressed.
Fabulous ambience and loved the singing waitress. Will be going back next week. My only disappointment is that we've only just found this gem!

We dined at the turtle last Saturday and had a fantastic experience.
Unfortunately the power blew out a fuse in the main restaurant. But in true blitz style the show went on. The food still arrived in a timely manner. The piano and singing was done by candle light and with a lively warm open fire burning away. The staff were all professional to the last with continual singing and entertainment as well as being cheerful and jolly. How great it was to see that this restaurant can deliver great food and entertainment while under awkward conditions to say the least.
I ate the scallops with a Spanish black pudding for the starter, sensational and better than a lot of fine dining restaurants I have been to, we also had the Moroccan lamb and unlike the previous reviewer found it to be delicious, a true Moroccan dish, spicy and succulent lamb and sweet couscous. The seafood mixed grill was also well executed. Deserts were a lemon tart and selection of great cheeses.
We will be certainly going back soon and with any luck the lights will go out again and add to the entertainment what a fun place with great staff…
Well done The Naked Turtle I’ll be back soon.

My family and I dined at the naked turtle this weekend. We were disappointed to find that the menu on their website was far removed from the menu available at the restaurant that night-gone was the antipodean cuisine we had expected. Nonetheless we were still hoping for a good meal considering the reviews the restaurant has recently received. However my family and I were left wondering if we’d come to the right place! The food was lackluster, rather expensive for what we received, and didn’t meet up to expectations: the half lobster bore more resemblance to a king prawn and the olives served with the Moroccan lamb tasted absolutely rancid. The restaurant itself was very chilly, which made it a little hard to relax in and also made the dishes cool down rather too quickly. To finish the evening we ordered a round of Irish Coffees. These were just dreadful. They were incredibly sweet and tasted and looked as though condensed milk was used in place of proper cream as the consistency was very thin. To top it off they were served cold. All in all, we were very dissatisfied customers.

I have been going to the Naked Turtle for some years now, but since Paddy and Dee have taken over the restaurant, it now oozes class and sex appeal. The food is delicious, and the singing waitresses and grand piano enhance the already fantastic atmosphere. This is a very special restaurant that I go back to over and over again and am thoroughly satisfied every time. It's a true find!
