I've been going for a decade, sadly very addicted - I normally order two dishes (I'm skinny as a whippet). The food is so good, in size and in taste. Though it's very crowded, perseverence pays off. Also, what a lovely welcoming pub.

It had been a long day on the road so when I finally got home I decided I didn't fancy cooking and was in desperate need of a pint. I parked up without going home and headed up to the Churchill to grab a takeaway. The pub was packed busy both inside and out but my food order of chicken Pad Thai and spring rolls was taken promptly. They told me I would have a 15 minute wait for the food so I fled to the bar for a pint of ESB.
The Churchill is a quite unique place there is lots of crazy bits on the wall and ceiling, however almost a fascinating as the collect curio's are the curious looking punters. It is a mix of tourists, office workers and local antique dealers who look like they live at the bottom of a bottle of claret. There is always a bit of banter going with the bar staff so I stood there suitably refreshed and entertained. Finishing my pint, I found my takeaway ready. I was eating it at home within in minutes though not before the bar manager told me off for leaving after only a solitary pint. The Pad Thai was very good indeed, a nice balance of moist chicken and noodles with a blast of heat. The spring rolls less good, obviously bought in frozen and deep fried but perfectly nice to munch on.
All in all a very good pub/thai. Not quite as good as my old favourite "Two Point" but still worth trying though it does get rammed in there.

Absolutely unbelievable thai food. I just moved into the neighborhood and was told the thai there was excellent. Not only are the portions big and extremely inexpensive, but was just superb. Food came out very fast, although was bit of a wait to get a table. I have been back 3 times already!

The Churchill Arms is one of the local pubs in my area. It's located on Kensington Church St, not far from Notting Hill Gate Underground Station. I like it because it's sort of quirky looking with lots of hanging baskets on the oustide of the pub (as you can see from the picture). The bar area is pretty small, but in the summertime it's actually quite nice just to stand outside. There is also a restaurant area that has been recognised for it's great Thai food, which is delicious and pretty inexpensive. They also do three types of roast dinner on a Sunday. A really lovely pub in a nice area with friendly staff. Definitely recommend going there.

was introduced to the restaurant by a friend back in 2006. i remember the food being excellent. now in 2009 i retraced my steps back to the pub & restaurant and was not disappointed. the ambience and food is divine but service is average but this should not put you off. highly recomended

Just got back from this eatery. Ok - I have to be honest. The food was pretty good, especially for the price. However, the rice was a little hard and the vegatables and meat were crudely cut.
The service was lacking in helpfulness and politeness. When I asked if I could have a pint of Stella in a straight glass I was told "no". When we asked if we could have noodles with a dish instead of rice, we were told "no" (yes, it is a set menu but they could surely have done this!"). We were told that the green curry would not be that spicy - it was! Also, when I booked this table at 6pm I was told that I could have a table for 8.30 but would have to leave at 9.30. When we paid for the bill without a tip the reciept was thumped down on the table with no eye contact! I was planning to leave a tip in cash but I decided then and there that they did not deserve one. Perhaps this place is cashing in on it's 3rd placing for thai huts in Harden's. Judging on tonights service, they do not deserve any praise at all.
Tip - smile and try and be helpful. No one owes you a living!

For the price this has to be one of the best Thai places in London. Tasty and cooked well. Good atmpsphere too. Less than £20 for 2 meals.
