Do I HAVE to apologise for being alone. I am a widow, work alone, from different places and like a hot meal.

Grudgingly shown to an uncomfortable table for one in the fireplace, it took ages to attract attention to place my order. The wine came quite quickly, the meal within reasonable time. I had to get rather loud and demanding in order to pay my bill.

The food was good, but I never saw a smile and gave up smiling myself. Unfriendly, unhelpful, unwelcoming.

Back to The Old Swan next time I'm here.

If you intend to eat with more than 3 people you will have to be split up (one person in the bar while the other two somewhere else). If you question this with the head waiter expect a rude comment. We used to eat there every other week, the above has drove us away. Not as friendly as it used to be. 1•

Group of 3 went to the Churchill Arms on Sat.night, very busy and restaurant was full. Wait was about 40 minutes for a table, and we did not want to wait so the manager suggested to find a table in the pub and they would serve us food there. We ordered and food came within 10 minutes. Hot, delicious, spicy, big portions and reasonably priced. Highly recommended Thai.

Went to this restaurant to meet a friend as it is one of her favourites - and it's obvious why!

Quick informative service and a great atmosphere! Don't come here expecting a quiet meal - proof of its popularity. As for the food - fabulous. Portions and price make it excellent value.

It's a strange blend of good ol' fashioned pub and Thai restaurant.

I will definitely be making a return in the very near future.

Best Thai food i've ever had. Standard has not dropped in the last 4yrs i have gone there. Considerably cheaper than many out there.

Gourmet Chick - 6/10

Monday, March 21, 2011 - At the back of the pub in an indoor conservatory area which resembles a mini hanging gardens of Babylon, lies the pub's Thai restaurant...The food is admittedly missing some of the subtleties of really good Thai cooking but the authentic heat and low prices make the pub worth a visit. The kaeng kiew waan, a so-hot-it-will-make-you-sweat green coconut curry featuring bamboo shoots, fresh Thai basil, peppers and some rather random green peas was really excellent. It was served with a generous helping of fluffy rice which was included in the price.
