Pizzeria Rustica

The place is a tad small, but the food is good.
The pizzas are nice-good quality pizza base, tomato and mozzarella are good as well. I'm not a fan of many toppings on pizzas, but they are also good.
My only gripe was the Napoli I tried was a bit salty (i guess the anchovies did that), but overall, good and prompt service.
Not had problems with the waiters either.

"THE UKS BEST PIZZA" - What a joke! UK's soggiest pizza in my opinion. Me and my girlfriend ate there on friday. All started well and then went down hill rapidly. The so called "Best Pizza" was a soggy uncooked mess. I ate most of mine out of sheer friday night, after work starvation, although more girlfriends was more puddle than Pizza. When the awkard part of "Was everything ok?", we politely explained the formentioned puddle - then the waiter did the norm, grab the manager. At which point every table around us as this point were horrifed that someone complained because the kitchen screwed up - This is not the Richmond Way - balls! The waiter comes back, after having what seemed like a UN negotiaiton, and tells me he'll take my girlfirends Pizza off the Bill.
But no apology! Just sheer attitude. So at this point. Lets go and have the dagger eyed, non apologetic walk past the Manager.
To sum up. Soggy Average Pizza, (try a woodfire oven) most over rated, cramped conditions. Try next door. Its callled Ronald McDonald. They do a fine Cheesy B.

We've just had a really poor evening here. Which is a real shame since the first time we went, it was great....
The Pizza obviously wasn't fresh, neither was the pasta - of which it was missing 2 key factors (prawns and sauce) - No apology either!
Overall really disappointed, and the service was terrible.
Won't be going back.

I am a self-confessed pizza- and Rustic-a-holic and visit at least three times per month. I do visit other pizzerias both in London and when travelling abroad but have never been anywhere that comes close in terms of quality. Especially none of the 'chain' pizzerias can match Rustica. It also has a very nice atmosphere and I often take corporate clients and friends there. The service is great and I can't wait till they open their new restaurant in St Margarets (where I live) so I can walk there. Highly recommended.

I've had wonderful pizza here in the evening. However, things are very different at lunch time. They clearly pre-bake pizzas for lunch time, then add the toppings and warm them up. Our 'award winning' pizzas arrived luke warm - something that simply couldn't happen if they had been freshly cooked from scratch. We tried to raise this in a friendly way, but they refused to back down. I don't like restaurants that take these kind of short cuts (the ham was also slightly stale), but what I really object to is being treated like an idiot. I've had enough pizzas to know whether a pizza has just come out of the oven freshly baked, or has been warmed up...
so - evenings only I'd say. As for me, I won't be going back.

I am a self confessed Pizza-holic and I must say that this was the best I have had since becoimg an addict 12 years ago. Apart from the tables being very close together it was a great evening.
PS - Mr Italian Patriot - I have had Pizza at 4 different restaraunts in Rome and they were all terrible! Pizza in the UK is far superior.
