Really horrible food. Quite temperamental as well. You could get so much more for your money. The food is soggy with oil and absolutely tasteless. The staff are rude and its just a really bad restaurant. Please dont waste your time and money eating out here. You'd do better sitting in a McDonalds, to be honest.

Sorry, but this place is a complete let down. Not only was the food absolutely disappointing, the service was appalling. The waiters are rude and completely unenthusiastic. Our food was late, and worse, when I was paying, the rude waiter snatched the bill out of my hand and slammed it on the table in front me saying to me: This is our copy, not your receipt! All this simply because I had taken the bill in my hand and in the process crumpled it a little coz I did not want my friend (who I was treating) to see what the total was!! Terrible service, overpriced food, definitely never going back there again and most definitely not recommending it to anyone!

Went with a friend for an evening meal. I had previously been last year for the lunch time buffet which, like most buffets, was cheap but not particularly imaginative and not as fresh as when individually ordered).

The menu generally is reasonably priced. We ordered a dosa and curry with rice. All of the food was freshly made and tasty, spicy without being too hot. The only drawback was the curry dish which was described as including 'exotic' vegetables' and turned out to be mostly carrots and cauliflower! Anyway, it was still tasty.

Decor: contemporary, clean and smart, with tablecloths on the tables, and service was attentive (they apologised for the late delivery of our chai tea, as they were very busy). Most of the seating is on the lower ground floor. Overall: good value, and I would definitely go back again.

Chutneys is a great place to eat out. It has the most delicious norh and south indian dishes. I would recommend anyone to go. Its great value for money, in actual fact its a bargain. Also, it has a license for BRING YOUR OWN wine. This is great as a wine bottle in shops would be far cheaper than the restaurants itself.

The food is mouth watering and service is excellent. The waiters are kind and quick service is a guarantee.

I do not recommend this vegetarian restaurant. The chef is definitely not from Kerala. The food was tasteless. The Thali was the worst we have every had! Very tasteless. The Dosa, which was the reason why we went, was just awful. I am from Kerala the food was not from Kerala. The curry that came with the Dosa was wrong along with the side dishes. Very disappointing.

what a disappointment. ordered dosas and idli's and they were came stone cold!

took us a while to convince our waiter that the dosa's weren't prepared fresh . eventually we did get another round, but to our dismay it was still cold. for the first time ever i had to leave a restaurant!

this may have been due to the fact that they had an all you can eat buffet, but that i think is still no excuse for serving such poor quality food.

I visited Chutneys for the first time last week with my sister. Must say that it was a pleasant and welcome surprise. The food is of a good quality, tasty, reasonably priced and certainly deserves a return visit. The paneer tikka was the highlight for me - fresh soft paneer, spiced and seasoned correctly - piping hot.

Chutneys has a decent and varied menu - the most popular of south indian and gujerati dishes are available. It could probably do with some improvements in choice, but generally all tastes can be catered for. The restaurant is a little on the small side, and balancing dishes on the tables is tricky - but the staff are overall attentive and helpful. For those of us who are vegetarians - Chutneys provides an outlet that is reliable - you won't leave here hungrey!

Well done Chutneys - keep your eyes and ears open for suggestions from the public, and I hope to see you around for a long time to come.

Myself and my partner noticed this place a few times and made a mental note to go there - which we did 2 Saturday's ago. We didn't realise it was a vegetarian restaurant until we were sitting down with our beers, so I was at a bit of a loss as to what to order. The very friendly waiter made some recommendations - and boy were we blown away. This is positively the best Indian food we have had in London EVER - and we like our Indians! The portions where huge, really tasty and excellent value for money - 1 starter and 1 main for me,a Thali for my partner and 2 large Cobra's £31. Can't complain about that - and we will be back!

I was in a big group (c.12) and the organiser had pre-ordered thalis for everyone. They were so bad I found it inedible. I just ate the rice with chutneys from the poppadoms! It took me right back to school dinners, i don't think i've ever been served such a poor meal in a restaurant and I eat out a lot. The dal had a skin on it, and a horrible taste to it. None of the food was hot (temperature let alone spice). The vegetable curry had bits of sweetcorn and just looked completely unattractive and proved to be overcooked and completely lacking in flavour. I can't believe that those who have provided good reviews are served this food or the many people pouring in as I left, so i don't know what made the kitchen think they could get away with it. Perhaps it's cos we were a big group? Anyway, that was my experience. Won't be returning - prefer to stick to Diwana across the road.
