This is the nearest you can get to a bustling all-day Brasserie without popping over the channel. Super efficient all-French staff, Formule, Rapides, the Carte, Specials - it's all here. For your blow-out, start with a dozen snails, then pop for a steak. Your entrecote will come as requested and if you go for rare, as we do, note that it will ooze blood-red juice. This with frites, a few thin green beans and a bearnaise, well you can't go wrong. Then have a small plate of cheese, and finish with a creme brulee. And the perfectly drinkable house red comes in at about a tenner a bottle. Others times, have the rapide. A gutsy soup followed by a minute steak will set you back less than eight quid. And if these suggestions are a bit meat orientated, they always have great fish on.

We love this place, as do a load of others; queues out of the door are a regular occurence, but you're never rushed. There are plenty of covers, so there's always a brisk turnaround

What an experience! By far one of the most romantic places to eat in London! Highly recommended for your anniversaries, proposals and intimate special occasions...

i have visited Frere Jacques for years but noticed that they have recently made some changing, not that the service and food was bad before but improve the menu and the service is more smily and efficient that it used to be

They also have now a live jazz band on the wednesday and it adds some charm to the already beautiful location

also Jean-Luc, the new manager is very helpful and pleasant even we knew that he was very busy on that night he managed to spend few minutes with us which we appreciate

I am very pleased to see that they are doing the effort for us who has been there for years and look forward to my next visit

We had a wonderful time at Frere Jacques. The staff are incredibly friendly and the manager went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The food was great - simple French cuisine at a really low price (especially if you have the set menu). All in all, a lovely evening in a great location. Will definatley be visiting again!

My wife and I ate here last week - the view over the river was lovely (although not quite the Seine) and the atmosphere nicely buzzing. The service was efficient and the food proficient - nothing amazing but very good value for what we paid (which of course included the view and the pleasent evening by the water). Not one if you want top-class french fare, but nevertheless, a very pleasent night out.
