TimeOut

TimeOut - 3/5

Friday, July 10, 2009 - 'This is like my mum's cooking!' my Polish friend cheerfully exclaimed after reading the menu of this small cafe. And the nourishing and motherly cooking doesn't disappoint: a traditional zurek soup of fermented rye flour and pork sausage with potatoes and eggs was tangy and comforting; a clear beetroot soup was satisfyingly sharp and intense...With its cheap prices, huge portions and warm welcome, this new cafe mainly targets local Polish folk, but it is an ideal place for anyone to come and be fed - a local in its fullest sense.

I went to this restaurant to try something different and I really enjoyed the experience. The waitress gave us a top-quality service and a lovely smile. The portions served were quite robust but really nice. i'll definitely go back.

Went there with my girlfriend to have nice polish dinner. Food was delicious but the service is really bad. Especially the waitress was rude to us. It's not good when the person who should help you behave like offended one. We haven't done anything wrong but from the beginning she was just extremely rude to us. Would go back because of good food but I am not recommending going there - maybe takeaway if you want to try food.

so i have eaten here a few times now and got some takeaways from here too, its not the most fantastic food in the world but its good, cheap and comforting the restaurant itself is nicely looked after clean and comfortable well worth a visit or even a call for something delivered as the quality is always consistent .

they do need to change their menu a bit too as i think ive seen 1 new dish in over a year and its not the biggest menu in the world.

ok so i went here because of timeout review and also i live quite near. the cuisine here is very much home style polish food which made me miss my home very much even if it is not quite as good as my mother cooking!!!

menu has all traditional polish foods and even for my sweet tooth some paczki (like polish donuts). pierogi were so tasty, i would go back just for them alone.

only thing i can say is that their website is all in polish language which is good for locals but if some people don't speak polish i don't know how they can feel welcome to go there. this seems sad because london people should try some of this food and be able to know what is on the menu. i hope they change this.

ok i have said enough but if you like polish food or want to try some for first time you can definitely find good cuisine at polonia taste.
