If you enjoy exceedingly large portions of revolting food, this is the place for you. If you enjoy being treated with complete contempt by your waitress, this is the place for you. If you enjoy sitting in a bleak and miserable environment, this is the place for you. If you are considering going to that clinic in Switzerland to put an end to your life but can't quite afford it, this is the place for you.

Otherwise, best avoided.

Well, the jerk chicken had hardly been marinated and the sauce was out of a packet, tasted more like a BBQ sauce than a Jerk sauce.

Sold out of hard food even though it was practically empty and the macaroni cheese was as a hard as a brick!

The prawn curry had clearly used frozen prawns and not fresh and tasted like something from a sewer, it was truly terrible and the service was appalling. we were not spoken to once, and when we came to pay they tried to put through our total bill as £52 + £52 gratuity tip! luckily we noticed otherwise they would have taken a small fortune from us!!!

awful awful awful!!!

Well, how can I put it; I can resonate with the other reports of the staff attitude, the woman behind the bar was sullen beyond belief. We were seated, service was quite indifferent. They had run out of the mutton completely at 7pm, which is what I wanted. I ordered a chicken roti and my friend jerk chicken. My chicken roti had a terrible roti, flacid and soggy, nothing like any Carribean Roti I have had before. The chicken and potatoe filling had those harsh uncooked spice taste that is particularly unpleasant, so ate little of it. My friends jerk chicken was like an anorexic chicken that had shot by buck rodgers ray gun (ie been to the crematorium) - dry and awful.

On paying the bill and leaving, we were totally blanked by the staff.

Do yourself a favour don't go to this dump!!

Also disappointed after coming here for lunch. The place was empty but the waitress tried to sit us on a table for 4 which had already had 2 people dining!

She took ages to take our order, forgot our drinks, and was getting the other orders confused despite the relatively few customers.

The jerk chicken I ordered was nothing to write home about. The chicken itself was mostly bones looking at it.

The table next to us was a mess and didn't get cleared for 30 mins -at which point the waitress sprayed some kind of bleach cleaner all over it which stank.

Getting the bill also took an age. Don't think I'll be going back.

A man on a mission, please don't try this establishment. The food is awfull, the waitresses rude and it is overpriced.

I wanted to try the jerk chicken, where can it go wrong I thought. Ok, the sauce wasn't the issue. Firstly the chicken was cooked dead and there wasn't any meat on it. Secondly the hard food was the most dry and plain food I ever had. Paying for a less than half eaten plate was the worst, 11,45 for the food + a coke. And the coke wasn't even cold.

sorry for the negativity, but this place shouldn't be on Wardour street, most restaurants have a good standard, but this is the ugly duck in the street.

Cheap Eats In London

Cheap Eats In London

Thursday, July 16, 2009 - Let's get a fact out of the way: Savannah Jerk (used to be Mr Jerk) is NOT owned by it's illustrious neighbour, Jerk City...I ordered the Curry Chicken and Wife ordered the Stewed Oxtail with Hard Food (boiled yam, plantain and dumplings). Curry Chicken was cooked on the bone, tender and well flavoured but the Oxtail was tough. An absolute crime as far as we were concerned. It could've been an off day but it's unlikely I'll give them another go in the future...
