Thinking of warm and a nice saturday night this is the right place Mawal restaurant edgware road
we were looking for live music and middle eastern food to pass a saturday night
Walking by edgware road we were stopped by 2 cute ladies that were standing in front of the restaurant and they invited us to have a look at the restaurant we decided to enter
Warm welcome and nice atmosphere, that was what we were looking for. it was a bit early when we entered there but later on the place was full. A nice bunch and collection of middle eastern music and singers and after the belly dancer came to make the night more and more enjoyable like if you were celebrating the new year people were dancing the lebanese traditional dance it was funny and nice
the price was good comparing what we got from service and atmosphere and especially the food. the waiter told us if we would like to choose our food but we let him choose for us a collection of the traditional lebanese selections
we got the cold starters later on the hot starters to be followed by the grills. the aubergine was excellent especially with that smokey taste. the mohamar mixed nuts was tasty a rich flavour of nuts with a good taste of chilli the fatoush salad was rich with the fresh ingredients rocket minth spring onion pomegrenade ........ dolma was good but bit sour
we got the hot starters, cheese rolls that comes with that special taste of herbs, crunchy falafel i got it in many other place but never got it like that ,the taste was excellent. chicken liver i think it was provencale way with the garlic, corriander and don't know that brown sauce that one you should never miss it , pitta bread and meat inside, the grilled halloumi was really nice with that sesame oregano basil taste makes you licking your fingers and i don't remember all the food the presentation was superb even if you are not hungry you get the appetite
the main course was a large selection of grills chicken, kebab , wings and lamb shish. The chicken was great full flavour, tender meat juicy full of flavour and lovely taste charcoal grilled. yes i know we were full but there was no mercy another selection of fresh fruit to complete our dinner
it was great night and for sure we will repeat it as soon as possible
sadly we were been told that the restaurant is a part of ALDAR the other one in the main road we came to try the shisha and we ordered some food but a big difference in the service and especially in the food quality and presentation
we tried to call and checked if we can get any places for the new year At MAWAL but we were been told that nothing special for new year because the restaurant is closed for special repairing
