Golden House

Taking our annual trip to London we had to go to our favorite chinese restaurant. The restaurant is just as good as it was last year, perhaps better!

Again we ordered the B menu ( ok, some might find it boring ordering the same food, but hey.... we love it so why not?) Unfortunately they were out of the duck but gave us some very nice ribs instead. Mmm the crispy beef ...and the fried seaweed - really great! (Feel like Homer Simpson just thinking about it.) If someone had told me, 20 years ago, that I would love fried seaweeds I probably would have laughed at them.

The staff are very friendly and nice and the service was excellent. Now, if you like chinese food and are in the neighborhood you´d have to be nuts not to try it. Highly recommended!

We've dropped by Golden House for a lunch after a night flight to London. I've read the positive reviews and everybody agreed to give it a try. We've ordered a complete set for 4 - several courses including duck Beijing style. We were the only people in the restaurant and the waiter was kind of surprised that his nap was interrupted. Nevertheless, service was prompt and faultless. Chopsticks were brought after additional demand.

The food was something that European people might think of Chinese food but I would describe it as a food with oriental influence. Although the duck came with sauce, greens and pancakes, only sauce and pancakes reminded me Chinese ones. Duck was excessively fried, every short fiber of it, greens were shredded cucumbers (?) and sprouts (?) - that will never be served in China.

All the rest had something in common with Chinese cuisine, tasted nice but was nothing like authentic Chinese. Not impressed.

I go here a lot, especially at lunchtimes as its round the corner from work. The food is always excellent, the staff are great, but its main feature for me is the outstanding value for money. Their lunchtime set menu is exceptional value. I can never understand why this place isn't full all the time. Top marks and highly recommended.

A great little gem of a restaurant. We just got back on a Friday evening, where it was busy, but not crazy, and the service was excellent. Food was a pretty usual chinese menu selection but with a few different dishes as well.

Everything we had was good quality, tasty and arrived quickly. No complaints what so ever, we had a great time for a great price.

This restaurant is truly a gem !

We were a party of six who had a wonderful dinner there a few weeks ago.We had a set dinner , "B" I think it was. Food was excellent, and so was the service!

Staff is friendly but not intrusive. We were all smiling during dinner and then we were presented with the bill, and we kept on smiling.

Highly recommended!

I used to live around the Bloomsbury area. It is one of the most quiet Chinese restaurant I have been visited in London. The staff there owns a formal and attentive mannerism. The speed of service is really fast. The quality of the food is always excellent.

i went here last saturday with my wife, that night it was very busy and a lots of customer waiting for seat.the staffs are very busy and seem like stressed out. but, the staffs are still gave me an excellent service and attentive for other customerd and friendly.the food are very fresh and delicious, my wife and me will come over here soon.
