Live nearby and love the place. Food is always good although sometimes better than others. Also like to down to earth setting and very relaxed atmosphere. Staff are great and always welcome us with open arms.

Two out of three of us liked the food. Good generous quantities and flavoursome.

Service was good and prompt. Spring roles tasty. Good value for money.

My soup was tasty but prawns were very salty and the egg fried rice was soaked with fat.

I live locally and love this place. Great Vietnamese / Chinese food - especially the Vietnamese lettuce wraps and soft shell crab. Not fancy but great if you want perfectly good Asian food for a fair price in SW1.

I stumbled accross this little gem through one of our chef's suggestion. Understated and unassuming it welcomed me like a smile or a hug, not sexy but welcoming. I sat down to what is now my addiction salt & pepper squid and some morish duck pancakes the spring rolls and the generous sauces all tasted like some one cared. I suspected it was a family owned business and I was right. A twenty year run in a town that hardly forgives a year of mistakes and still going strong. The wait staff very accomodating but take it easy with the extravegant lingo they are part of the charm. I honestly loved it, because it is special in a way that I felt at home it was not ponsy and pretentious it is special in the way that local restaurants are no longer, local honest & affordable. I hope you enjoy it also.

This place was such a find! I live close by and on a friend's recommendation went with 4 friends for supper. Now, the motto of the day there is "cheap and cheerful" - don't expect anything else. But for that, its utterly fantastic. The food was delicious, crispy seaweed, prawn crackers and sesame prawn on toast to start. Then we shared deep fried beef, fried prawns, spicy chicken, lamb and duck, egg fried rice and a pad thai. It was all yummy and the deep fried beef was especially good - highly recommended. The waitresses were great, it was quick and efficient and all in all was a great night out. Extremely cheap too, with wine was only £14 a head. Great value for money. Just don't expect it to be michelin star.

Went to this place for lunch earlier today.

The food is rubbish - and the waitresses acknowledge as much.

The beef Pho is £3.50 for a small bowl - but I wanted a big proper bowl as it's quite chilly out. The waitress this cost £7, which would have been fine if the Pho were any good. The pho was fake - I paid £7 for artificially seasoned (think Nissin instant noodle packet seasoning) water without any real flavour, a negligible amount of beef and not much else.

Mekong's pho is nothing like real pho.

And I kid you not - the waitress had a resigned look of "yes, I know the food is rubbish" And the table next to mine said their meal was rubbish as well!!

Very disappointing. Non authentic Vietnamese food. Don't go if you are looking for some real taste of Vietnamese.

I went for the first time yesterday.

The restaurant is Vietnamese not Chinese . I had an enormous lemon sole which would have cost twice as much in more salubrious surroundings. Garlic prawns were excellent.

The place is very small, unpretentious and fairly down market - plastic menus, paper table cloths etc but the service is good and the food tasty with generous portions.

It represents excellent value and I would definitely go again for a casual rather than a special night out.

Okay so if your expecting beautiful surroundings and amazingly prsented gastro style cusine this isn't the place for you... HOWEVER it is is one of my fave places to have a quiet understated evening out becasue of its friendly laid back atmosphere and service. Mr Mekong as he is affectionately know is a legend...

highly recomended for small informal parties.
