Amazing place. I always have the Saltimbocca folded pizza, It is perhaps the best pizza in London. The atmosphere is always good, but they could do with turning off the TV.

A truly fantastic find. This is as authentic as it gets. REAL Neapolitan food: high quality ingredients cooked with love and tradition.

This is a must not only for lovers of Italian food who find, after returning from Italy, that most restaurants in London do not live up to the same standards, but for anyone wanting to feast well in a warm and generous atmosphere.

The staff were incredibly attentive and hospitable, and the three course Christmas meal I took my office to was simply sensational. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Second visit recently after being impressed first time around - but was left feeling disappointed with the service and the food. On the plus side ambience is very good and the staff are very friendly.

We ordered at about 8 10. Starters arrived pretty quickly - one cold & one hot (actually barely warm) antipasti plate - and quite good. Main courses (3 pizzas & a chicken special) had not been served by 9 30 and we had to chase them up. When we ordered we were told they had no rocket for the Pizza Gay so chose a calzone instead. When they arrived all of the pizzas were undercooked - crust very doughy - and we got the Pizza Gay minus the rocket instead of the calzone. They brought the calzone eventually but the rest of us had almost finished our meal. We didn't stay for desserts or coffee!

Have to agree with the review below as I was very disppointed with this restaurant.

The pasta dishes - particularly the gnocchi - tasted like it had come from the frozen food section. Portion sizes were tiny.

The pizza was bland, bland, bland. The toppings were completely tasteless. Most food came out lukewarm.

At a cost of £10 a pizza you are much better off elsewhere.

The food was average at best and overpriced. The pizzas were no better than those you buys at Sainsburys.

The service was slow - we waited 45 minutes for starters.

And the most important question - is this as good as Franco Manca? Not even in the same league. Donna Margherita is in a similar league to Pizza Express

When we arrived at Donna Margherita we found straightway a great ambience, the service was fast ,and all the staff sympathetic and friendly with us .The food at Donna Margherita is lovely and tasty at the sometime , and it's served in huge portions then the pizzas are fantastic with generous toppings and nice thin bases. It is great value for money Would definitely go back again

A Rather Unusual Chinaman

Monday, September 14, 2009 - Enrico came over and "educated" us on how to properly eat a Neapolitan pizza. In order to savour all the flavours of the tomato, basil and mozzarella, we were told to fold the pizza so we could get all the flavour in one hit, and wow! The mouthful was a taste sensation to me. The sauce was light and tangy, with that subtle sweetness radiating from the tomatoes. The base was soft and doughy. Mix that together with the smooth and delicious creaminess from that imported Italian mozzarella, and there you have heaven my friends...

Tuesday, September 01, 2009 - Donna Margherita prides itself on its pizza so of course we had to try the Margherita. The base was thin and crisp and yet still soft enough to roll the pizza slices up in order to eat them "Neapolitan style" as exhorted by Gabriele. Having eaten pizza in Naples I have not actually ever seen people rolling their pizza to eat it, but I have to admit that rolled or not, the pizza at Donna Margherita was amazing. The base was delicate and imparted a fantastic smoky flavour while the freshness and quality of the toppings shone through. Even Johanna who is not much of a pizza lover was won over.

Thursday, July 02, 2009 - I can safely say that Donna Margherita is good. Its not going to win any big awards, and in a way, that's a good thing. The classical style is rustic and its just straightforward good Italian food. In particular, the pizzas are wonderful, almost as good as Franco Manca and the pastas as well as the seafood stand out. Its unbeatable when it comes to price.
