It used to be fantastic but something has changed since refurbishment (maybe changed hands?) as when I went last night I was very disappointed with the quality of food.

a relaxed late night turkish family restaurant.

my local. guess i'm there once a week at least.

does all the standard things the others in the green lanes strip do, free bread ,dips, salad, they bring these out first, which has the virtue of making you eat your veggies.

generally hala stands out in having grilled meats that are just a bit better than the others. i concur with the time out review that the fried lamb's liver - ciğer -is a standout. think it's garnished with coriander leaves and it always comes with fried onion. mmm.

and don't forget the free tea.
