I have been lucky enough to eat at Ratchada's on a couple of occasions since a friend introduced me to it in January. The food is exquisite. I'd kind of got used to fairly bland offerings from local Thai restaurants in the Greenwich area and went to Ratchada's with no great expectations.

However, the food was deliciously spicy and authentic. The soups in particular were gorgeous and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone in the area.

For those unwilling to venture away from Blackheath's bright lights, you are missing out. It may be slightly off the beaten track but it is a hidden gem well worth making the effort for!

Fairly average Thai food with small portions. Not cheap for a local restaurant, and they automatically add 10% service charge, for what was below par service. Although the restaurant was virtually empty, the waitress was asked us to sit near the door, and was reluctant to place us anywhere else when I said I don't want to sit in a draught. In addition she was not very attentive throughout the meal.

Having recently moved to the area, I have certainly found my favourite local restaurant. I thought the food was excellent as well as inexpensive.

We ate at Ratchada's last week. We live in South west London and come over to Blackheath on business now and again. Whenever we are nearby we always eat at Ratchada's. The food is still fantastic, the staff charming and attentive, great ambience and a very reasonable price too - we never think of going anywhere else. I would definately recommend this restaurant. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Excellent local Thai Restaurant.

My wife and I eat here at least twice a month and it is very authentic well cooked Thai Cuisine.

The staff are always cheerful and friendly and we look forward to every visit.

On Fridays and Saturdays it can get very busy.

But, as the food is so good why shouldn't it be.

Why bother going to the West End when there are places like this on your doorstep?

Having read Felicity Taylor's review I am compelled to reply... I am the ownner of the restaurant and can find no booking under the above name... Certainly I would not have kept any customer waiting for an hour for a table as the restaurant has no waiting area...In any event we have never given away a booked table...I have no record of a Ms Taylor complaining at the time nor of any member of her party... The way my restaurant is laid out it is not possible for a table booked for 2 to be then given to 4 people.

I would take any complaint by a customer very seriously and if Ms Taylor if she exists contacts me I would be happy to discuss this matter with her further. I am very pleased with a loyal and wonderful clientele and cannot even contemplate that this complaint was a real one.

Having reserved a table for 2 at Ratchada, we were horrified on arrival to discover our table had been given to a party of 4, and there were no spare tables available. We waited for 10 minutes before a mamber of staff approached us and were then kept standing for an hour before the manageress found a table for us.

Sadly the food was not worth the wait.

We ate there last week having not been since summer 2005, and had a great meal, fantastic value for money and a real little find. Must find time to go back more often.

I have eaten here twice in 2006 and the food is not nearly as good as it used to be, although curiously the place seems busier! I hope this is a temporary blip as we used to go here regularly and loved the food, but recently we have been put off by food lacking flavour but drowning in chilli, and very slow service. I don't think we'll be risking eating here again.
