I have eaten here twice in 2006 and the food is not nearly as good as it used to be, although curiously the place seems busier! I hope this is a temporary blip as we used to go here regularly and loved the food, but recently we have been put off by food lacking flavour but drowning in chilli, and very slow service. I don't think we'll be risking eating here again.

Genuine Thai restaurant.
Forget those Indian-Thai or Chinese-Thai or what ever mixed restaurants like that which ruin the reputation of Thai cuisine. If you want to try real thai food, Ratchada is absolutely for you. I lived in Thailand for many years and still remembered the taste of real Thai dishes. At the right price, , this is one of my favourite Thai restaurant.

I would reccommend to anyone who prefers a real Thai taste to their food or anyone who wants a candle lit dinner and an intimate atmosphere. If you are a person with a sweet tooth, try the banana fritter with ice cream for your dessert.. it's sublime.

We have been going to Ratchada's for about a year now. It has to be the best place to eat in the Greenwich/Blackheath area. It is set apart from what you normally think of as a Thai restaurant, it has really interesting original art and photography on the walls, minimalist, stylish decor/lighting, well chosen, not too intrusive music, to sum up -just the right ambience. I particularly like the fact that you can see the food being prepared and cooked by the chefs in the kitchen that is set behind the bar.
As for the food itself, it has that lovely crisp, clean taste (love the coriander), so you know that the ingredients are freshly prepared. I've never had an average meal here - always a memorable one and good prices too. The menu is very varied so that there are plenty of things to try. The wine list is comprehensive and it has a good selection of champagnes and beers, it's certainly a place to bring your friends.
Ratchada, the owner has certainly created something special here, she's very friendly and, dare I say it - rather nice too.
