I never been here for a couple months, I love food here, taste is good, decoration is ok but price is unreasonable especailly for beer!!! One more point, this time it's seem that I have dinner at hot pot not Thai restaurant, the smell like hot pot.

Disappointing.

Small take away has 24! covers for some reason in the very small room. People coming to get their take away every other minute, so you are always disturb, by someone who passes by.. No place to hang the coat.Staff of 5! (very unfriendly) people can't serve 8 customers on time. Pad Thai was very bad.The taste of food is average. SIZE of portions should be bigger for the price you pay. Waiting time was about 15 min between the dishes. Starters came after bottle of wine was almost finished. The TOTAL was £87 for 4 small starters 2 main courses 1 desert and one bottle of wine in such a place.

TAKE AWAY ARE THEIR PRIORITY! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!

My husband and i have eaten here several times and have always enjoyed our meal. Attentive service, a good varied menu and portion sizes seemed larger than our last visit. Perhaps a touch on the expensive side but still very worth it. Overall a very tasty thai meal!

I had never been to Ratchada before and I can guarantee that I will never be going back. As we have a young baby we decided to get a take away for valentines this year and thought we would give Ratchada a go.

Anyway, the starters were cold and the tempura prawns were coated in bread crumbs and not a batter. This is nothing compared to the main course. The thai red curry had been re heated in a microwave - they had even left the cling film on the container. The chicken was so dry. Oh, and the veg had been cooked to death. This is served next to the cold and mushy rice noodles. I called the restaurant and explained I was unhappy and that I wanted a refund and they just said NO over and over again. I took the food back to restaurant and asked again and they just said NO. They turned their back on me and said that I should have tried it before taking it away from the restaurant. What a joke. And to think I paid over £30 for this quality of food and service. I should have known better though - even terrible restaurants are more than half full on valentines night. Be warned - DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT

We went to this place last week by walking around the neighbourhood as we have just moved to this area. My wife had a craving for Thai food so we decided to check this small place out. The restaurant location is great and eye catching, while you can see through the window over basic interior that shows a try-to-be chic and gallery like that when you really sit on them you can feel a shabby quality. The menu offers variety of original and adapted Thai food. The food itself, however, was only ok, a bit bland and cold I would say. The worst part was the quantity which was similar to a cocktail party portion compared to the price charged. This doesn't count a strong smell of cooking inside that came into our clothes until home. We wouldn't go there again if not necessary. There are many more other Thai restaurants that do 1,000 times better. There is a hope for improvement if the management of this place put more effort into both foodterior.

Disappointing. This was our second trip to Ratchada. The first time we found the food excellent, although the portions were small. It was enough to want to go back. I wish I hadn't. The restaurant is nice, good location, pleasant atmosphere, friendly waitress. But the food this time was abysmal. We ordered satay mushrooms and char grilled octopus for starters. The mushrooms, about six of them, served on three skewers, cold with a tiny dish of satay sauce, seemed like a token gesture to vegetarians and nothing more. The mushrooms were tasteless. The second starter was char grilled, but certainly not at any time we were in the restaurant. It arrived cold and rubbery, as tasteless as the mushrooms, and with none of the char grilled flavour you get the dish for. You know, sometimes starters just go wrong. I've never been to a Thai restarant where I didn't enjoy the mains. That is, I hadn't before now. We ordered a prawn pad Thai, chicken jungle curry and beef mussaman. As with our previous experience the portions were smaller than most restaurants. The prawn pad Thai had exactly four prawns in it. There is a three pound mark-up between a prawn pad Thai and, say, a beef or vegetable pad Thai. Why when the paltry ingredients at worst cost the same amount? The noodles were slight, limp and greasy and the prawns, like everything else tonight, tasteless. The mussaman curry was OK but but not great. The beef and potato was sparing. Most disappointing was the jungle curry. Watery, utterly devoid of taste, with cardboard tasting slivers of chicken and washed out, over-cooked vegetables. Served in a cup-like bowl, it was as though it has been dipped into the washing up water. We had three glasses of wine with our meal - fine - and a couple of glasses of juice. So it wasn't a huge meal - kind of average. The bill, however, was more than expected. On the menu it seems quite reasonable, but we hadn't noticed prices don't include VAT. So our bill of two starters, two mains, some noodles and a couple of glasses of wine came to £48 (before VAT). That was bumped up to £56 (before service charge). All in all the most poorly cooked Thai meal I have ever eaten, either in Thailand, London or anywhere else. I can honestly say I'm disappointed. I had high hopes, but I won't be eating at Ratchada again.

Went to Ratchada after an absence of a couple of years. It's a good local restaurant that always serves really tasty food in a nice setting. The food did not disappoint again, but what my wife and I found really odd was the fact that they have attached a notice to the bottom of each page of the menu - 'Prices are exclusive of VAT'. Now I'm not a businessman, but I have never come across this in a restaurant in the UK. Effectively they have put their prices up by 17.5%, which makes it a much less attractive proposition. When I queried the move by asking 'what's this?', the waitress unfortunately misinterpreted and brought out a calculator with 17.5% on it. Talk about rubbing salt in. As I say the food is still good here, but with so many restaurants falling over themselves to get your custom, adding 17.5% to published prices is no incentive to return.

Very very strange that quite a few people were dissatisfied with Ratchada Thai Restaurant. Such authentic Thai food at such a good price is very hard to find in London. I went there for green curry, spring rolls and seafood tom yam. the taste of the food is similar to what I had during my last trip to Bangkok and Nakhon Sawan. I love spicy food and they were very happy to keep topping up my freshly chopped chillis at no extra price! I usually have to pay between GBP1.00 - 2.00 extra for fresh chilli at other restaurants. The staff were freindly and helpful too. I loved it!

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!

The quality of the food was fine, but the quantity was poor! We pre-booked as a big party of people and they insisted on us having the set menu, which was fine, but there was so little food to go round that three of my party ended up with just rice and a few scraps of beef stir fry!

We asked for more food but none ever came, and then they seemed shocked when i asked for money off of the bill!

I thought maybe this was just bad luck, but i witnessed 2 sets of other diners complaining and walking out without finishing their meals, 2 lots of takeaway customers returning as they had the wrong orders and 3 other people complaining at the slow service and time it took to get the bill!!

I would be surprised if this place survives another year unless they sort their amateur customer service out.

Very dissapointed.

Nothing special

Good thai food but not really worth going out of your way to get here. Also overpowering fried food smell in the restaurant
