Just saw a bad review for Ratchada and had to balance it with a favorable one (I never do this). I used to use the Thai in Blackheath but I now order from Rathchada all the time (which is quite frequently). It is not over fussy, the staff are very friendly and the food tastes like it did when I was travelling in Thailand (that's a good thing). I always judge a Thai restaurant by it's Pad Thai and their's is terrific!
Enjoy!

Having been addicted to Thai food since our trip to Asia I was pleased to stumble across this place in my neighbourhood - the staff are lovely and the food is fantastic and very authentic and the best thing is they do sticky rice which I haven't had since being away!!!
Tom Yum soup is a must!

Lovely place, simple, tasty, quiet, clean and calm. More of a canteen setup but very enjoyable. Great food, nice staff.

We visit this restaurant at least once a month as we live so close by (and aren't the most talented of chefs). The food is always tasty and the service good. Being a vegetarian i find it hard eating out sometimes but there is a big selection of dishes on their menu and most of the Thai currys can be made into a vegetarian option.
The main reason we go back so often is because the food never falters. It is consistently good.
We have eaten in all the local Thai restaurants in the Blackheath and Greenwich areas and this one is by far the best for value for money and taste.

We ate here on friday last week, arriving for the start of dinner at around 6pm we had no trouble getting a seat, but by the time we left at 8pm the place was packed so be prepared. But the wait would certainly be worth it, five of us had the set menu. The food was wonderfully flavoured and fresh! Great atmosphere, good service and staff were excellent and able to answer all of our questions about the menu.
All five of us thoroughly enjoyed the thai experience and would definitely go again!

Went here for dinner on Saturday gone, and was with 2 other girl friends of mine.
Amazing flavours that delight your pallet with every bite served with a fun, buzzing atmosphere and side order of friendly, helpful staff!
It's a win win place to visit and it treats you wallet with care.

What an absolutely fantastic experience we had at Ratchada!
A Wednesday night and the place was having. As soon as we walked through the door it felt like we were really being looked after, nothing was too much trouble, we didn't have to wait for anything. The staff were all very friendly and very, VERY efficient!
The food was amazing, it was worth every penny, beautifully presented and delicious.
I honestly could not fault one single thing about the eveing.

I went to Ratchada last weekend for a meal, I must say, it is the worst Thai Restaurant I have ever been to. After reading the reviews I thought I'd give it a try. It is absolutley not authentic at all as some reviewers have described it to be, all the ingredients used are not Thai ingredients. The Thai Green Curry was absolutely nothing like the real thing, looked like curry powder bought from a market, the colour was totally different. No Thai Aubergines were used but the purple version of it, no fresh pepper corn or Thai chili, no basil or kaffir lime leaves but just tons of bamboo shoot to cover it up. Ordered the whole red snapper, but then when the dish came, it was in fillets!
There was not enough waitresses to serve you, the service was real slow and people were complaining, just two girls running around like headless chicken speaking no english at all. She didnt even understand when i ordered 'Rice' and 'Water' so I pointed.
I have been to many Thai restaurants before so I am not speaking as an amatuer, customers are really knowledgeable these days, you can't flog it off and pretend, they will know.

I have been lucky enough to eat at Ratchada's on a couple of occasions since a friend introduced me to it in January. The food is exquisite. I'd kind of got used to fairly bland offerings from local Thai restaurants in the Greenwich area and went to Ratchada's with no great expectations.
However, the food was deliciously spicy and authentic. The soups in particular were gorgeous and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone in the area.
For those unwilling to venture away from Blackheath's bright lights, you are missing out. It may be slightly off the beaten track but it is a hidden gem well worth making the effort for!
