your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne

Disinterested staff who constantly put there arms in front of you while you're trying to eat to collect plates. We went there last night and were practically force fed our wine & water, ever time someone walked past they topped up the glasses especially some rotund bloke who was the manager i think and an expression i can only assume is a result of some very painful piles. We'd barely finished chewing our last mouthful before the plates were taken, the table next to has had to point out the the waiter that they were still eating their dinner so to leave the plates.

the service charge is included on the bill, i can only assume because they wouldn't get any tips otherwise?

Not good value really

Ordinary turkish food, nothing special

Unfriendly staff with no sense of how to do a good job (presumably following the manager's example)

lots of background noise

crowded with tables - NOT people

Not really allowed to enjoy the experience, we were hurried

Will never go there again, we have a local turkish restaurant in whetstone, n. london that is fantastic!

This restaurant is hidden away behind Bishopsgate. The food is quite good but nothing special. Expect typical Turkish nosh like grilled meat with rice and salad.

The restaurant is very popular and incrediably busy and noisy. They seem to want to squeeze in as many people into the reataurant as possible. The tables are far too close together, and it's difficult to have a private conversation when your elbows are nearly touching the strangers sitting on the table next to yours.

I wish i'd had the opportunity to go to Haz, unfortunately they seem unable to even deal with simple tasks such as taking table reservations.

I booked a table for my close friends birthday do. the guy on the phone sounded very disinterested, and to make sure, i made him read out the particulars of our booking.

On the evening in question, we turned up, only to find that they had no record of our reservation, and we ended up walking around in the freezing cold, trying to find a restaurant with space (which on the last Friday before xmas was tricky...)

I can't say what the restaurant is like, but I'd certainly look upon them as extremely unreliable, and one to avoid for special occassions....

I don't know if the people who love this place is talking about the same place i went to. The food had absolutely no taste nad It was cramped. dont let the frosted glass fool you! It's just another one of them pretentious London restaurants that claim to offer something "different". The reason that there aren't many of them is because the food has no flavour. sorry to say.

We live very close to Haz and have used it a lot over the last five years. OK we probably get special treatment because we are regulars but we always find the service is excellent - friendly and prompt.

During the week the restaurant's popularity means that the waiters have to work quickly to get people fed but we have never felt under any pressure to leave because normally I believe they would only do one lunch sitting. It gets a bit quieter later in the evening.

In the weekend it is is marvellous because it is quiet and open all afternoon Saturday and Sunday. I am not sure I should let people know this as I would not wish to spoil the relaxed atmosphere.

I once sent a corked bottle of wine back with no discussion at all. They produced a new bottle which showed that the first bottle was in fact faulty for some reason.

The food is nearly always perfect. Their creme brulee went through a lumpy patch when the new restaurant opened. Best dish is the plain lamb shish but it is all good. Prices speak for themselves.

This is my favourite Turkish restaurant, due to the excellent food and service, and the stylish and toned down interior. It is not like walking into a tacky turkish place, but white table cloths and the like!

The food and value always excellent, and the wine selection is good. It lies a bit off track in the City too, which means you have to know about it in order to go there. Even so one has to book in order to get a table, which shows it has a good reputation.

I now live away from London and I frequently miss HAZ!!

I just love this restaurant I always recommend it as a great place to go with friends or on a date. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual although the decor is more aking to an up market (high priced) restuarant - Haz remains a stylish but good value place to eat. The food is excellent, and served with a smile, all ingredients are fresh and the salads are crisp. I wouldn't go here for a business lunch but its defintely one to enjoy when you clock off.

Had to send my Mousaka back as it was frozen still in the middle. Haz has an open kitchen and I was disgusted to see as I looked up towards the kitchen a few minules later one of the chef's cupping his hands in front of his face. His hands then went down for a few seconds and he then passed a plate to a waiter. Low and behold it was the meal I had sent back. I have no idea why he cupped his hands in front of his face so you can make your own conclusions. I was disgusted, picked up my coat and left the restaurant without paying for my starter or drinks. I wouldn't eat there for free!
