I visited Pizza East on Sunday with 3 friends for lunch. We were very impressed with the décor of the building and the way that you have retained many of the original features of the building.
We ordered our drinks which were a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. I was very disappointed to find that a very small cranberry juice cost £3. The orange juice was £2.50 which was more understandable as it appeared to be fresh, but the cost of the cranberry juice seemed excessive as it had come out of a carton and was full to the brim of ice, in fact the cost of the small cranberry juice which was not even in a half pint glass cost more than a half pint of beer.
We then ordered our food which was a variety of pizza and two lasagne dishes. The lasagne was not to our satisfaction at all. The presentation of the lasagne was awful. It appeared as a dry lump on the plate, not even a salad garnish was included. The lasagne itself was very dry and tasted bland. There was a lack of tomato in the lasagne and it was difficult to eat because it was so dry. The waitress did not enquire during our meal if everything was ok, and it was difficult to get anyone's attention. When a different waiter came to clear our plates and the lasagne was not finished I tried to explain how disappointed I was with my meal, but he was uninterested and walked off without saying anything.
All in all the visit was a disappointing experience.

Very cool venue, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Varied menu and very reasonable prices. Shame the pizza was really average: crispy at start but quite hard to eat as it got colder. The tomato sauce was cheap and of a weird taste. I had a margherita and there was very little cheese on it.

We didn't have a booking but the reception staff were very welcoming and showed us to a table right away. The place is big with a buzzy atmosphere with slight woody smoke aroma from the pizza ovens. Feels very much like the kind of place you would find in New York. Well organised, efficient operation with plenty of competent appearing staff with a feeling of a well managed operation.
Starter of squash and farro was pretty good and tasty. The pizza had a nice chewy, bubbly crust with good flavour although a bit on the dry side overall. Side salad (little gem lettuce with figs, hazelnuts, bacon and blue cheese) was very good - also very American in style, in my view. Food came quickly and service was efficient and friendly. Pizza prices a little on the high side but pretty positive experience overall.

I went to Pizza East with 2 friends on Saturday night, overall we had a very pleasant experience. I loved the cavenous but also somehow spacious and modern feel. The staff were very attentive even though it was busy and only the second night. Our starters of calamari and musscles were both delicious and very high quality, for main friend had the beef cheek which was also great. The only below standard thing was the pizza; the base was not very thin and the crusts covered a larger surface area than the bit with topping on. I had a mushroom and egg pizza - thank god for the soft yolk to the egg which gave the whole thing some moisture. The flavours were lacking in general also, a shame as the rest was lovely. will come back again and hope for improvement on the pizzas.

Not sure about best pizza in town. went there for lunch today, service was over attentive asked the plethora of waiting staff in Clarke Kent glasses not to clear the dish which had the ok meatballs and tasteless sour tomato sauce. They cleared it. The pizza duck and artichoke i think it was, was dry the duck sausage tasted weird and the artichokes were tasteless. The only decent dish was the calamari, really good with a homemade tartare sauce and crispy fried onions. The room's also well decorated. It's cavernous, but cleverly designed so it doesn't feel hollow. Would go back for the fact that it's close to work and fairly priced. The pizza was rubbish.

easily the best pizza i've had in london and that includes trips down south of franco manca and donna margherita. not sure what it was but the combination of a perfectly crispy base and generous quality toppings was first class. the wine i had by the glass wasn't to my taste but the gf liked her Negroni. no room for dessert but we'll be back!
