We used to like this pub and come frequently as we live locally, but recently, they have suffered from their own success.

The place is always packed, and the service very patchy.

The food prices have shot up.

We went there last Sunday for lunch; I asked for a starter with a well-cooked egg instead of the runny poached egg, but was informed that this could not be done as the eggs are pre-cooked. Not only is this worrying (pre-cooked poached eggs?), but at those prices it is outrageous that the chef cannot even cook an egg through!

I ended up not eating. My husband had left his card behind the bar, but when it came to pay, the wrong card as brought, the bill was wrong etc etc.

Unfortunately not a place we will be going back.
