Taste of India

We have been going to the Taste of India in Hatfield for over 20 years now - five years ago we moved to St Albans but having tried several of the (more expensive) Indian restaurants there we always come back to the Taste of India! The food is always fantastic - I really like the lamb tikka karai, the lamb is very tender which is difficult to achieve. My husband Andy is on first name terms with Mo, the owner and I don't think we will ever consider going to any other curry house.

We think it's without doubt the best Indian we've come across, anywhere basically.

The Taste of India Restaurant makes the best curry we have ever had, frankly we are now unable to have curry anywhere else as it never even comes close. We have tried many of the dishes on the extensive menu and they are always great. There is always a friendly welcome here. We never feel rushed, the food is always freshly prepared so be ready to wait slightly and be rewarded with great quality. The whole family loves it here, all three generations of us. My husbands favourite is the lime chutney made by Mo to his secret recipe.

The Taste of India, in my opinion, is one of the best restaurants around. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal with attentive but not ‘pushy’ service.

The food is excellent and among the usual favourites (with a twist) new and innovative dishes appear. I particularly like Lamb Vindaloo, the meat is so tender that you can cut it with a fork, accompanied by Tarka Dall and steamed rice.

When I lived in Hatfield I regularly ate at The Taste of India. I now live in Suffolk, but whenever I visit home I make sure that I visit The Taste of India and leave with plenty of takeaways!

Mo's Taste of India is for us the best Indian restaurant far and wide. The welcome is so friendly it is like coming home to relax while enjoying a wonderful meal. We have over the years celebrated all big family occasions at Mo's and tried so many dishes - all are excellent. Even flying in from Australia the first stop after Heathrow is Mo's restaurant. Young and old in our large family all agree: "The Taste of India" is the best!

My wife and I, along with our two children visited the Taste of India to celebrate mothers day, what a wonderful place , the service was attentive, we didn't feel rushed at any time , and I can truthfully say it was the best indian food we have ever had, so well done Taste of India we will definitely be returning.

A visit to Taste of india was long overdue, this was one of my best loved restaurant in hatfield. since moving out of hatfield i haven't been here as often. mo the owner has not changed very much nor has his food. it is still fantastic, service is still second to none. if i was living in hatfield i would be here on a weekly basis. if you are passing by make sure you drop in its still one of the best.

We have been visiting the Taste of India regularly for the past twelve years and have taken lots of our friends along in that time and they always come away very impressed.

Mo has created some really great dishes - my favourite is the Anwar Gosht which is a very tasty combination of Lamb, Ginger & Mint . Our Vegetarian friends simply can't resist the Vegetable Special. My husband always has the Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi which he reckons is as good as any to be found anywhere and since we've been to lots of Indian Restaurants worldwide over the past 40 years this is quite a compliment.

Service is great - all the staff know how to make you feel very welcome and they like a joke - when we go it's just like having a party at some old friend's house.

We've been eating at The Taste of India for longer than we can remember. Whenever we have friends or family over to stay or for just an evening a visit to TOI or a takeaway is usually their first request.

Quality food, quality service and a quality experience is our assessment of TOI.

Me and my partner went to the Taste Of India last saturday to experience quality indian cuisine as recomended by friends and were not dissapointed, in fact the welcome we received from the owner and head waiter was fantastic!!!!!. I ordered the tiklu kebab for my starter and was in seventh heaven and the murghi palak for my main was just as mouthwateringly good as the starter. The Taste of India is one of those hidden gems that you rarely find but now we have found it we will certainly be back to sample other dishes from their menu.

Taste of India, is without doubt the best indian restaurant in Hatfield and possibly Hertforshire.

I have tasted most of the dishes and they are all very tasty.

The prices are reasonable too.

The owner ( i think his name is Mo ) knows how to make his customers return

again and again...well done Mo
